The OR-45 from ORCA Boompole Quick Release is a quick release attachment designed to provide an efficient way to attach or detach a microphone when using a boompole, making it ideal for sound recordists and boom operators in television, broadcast, ENG, EFG, and more. Simply attach it to any boompole, then affix the included 3/8" male connector to your mic's shockmount. The pull-down spring allows you to pull down on the collar to disconnect the quick release mechanism. The collar is finished in red so it will be easy to identify in a hurry.

Since the AD400Pro and battery weighs 4.63 lb. and is heavier than most microphones that the BP-36A is intended to support, you may want to consider using a boompole that is designed to support lights and handle more weight, such as the Photoflex LiteReach Plus (B&H # PHEPLP). The LiteReach Plus has a 5/8" top stud so you will not need an adapter and it can handle a 15 lb vertical load at its full extension.

Now the external of this case is about 51.6-inches. My question is, if I force the boom pole I have in this case, would it fit in? If not, do you have other cases that could fit more than a 51-inch pole?

A: No, the interior of, this Orca case is too small for the boompole and will not fit. You will need to use a case with a longer internal length such as the Alfa Case 47-55" Lockable BoomTube (B&H # AL10055BTLB) or Ambient Recording BC130 Boom Case for QX 5130 Boompole (B&H # AMBC130).

Q: 9. Is the orca OR-52 the right size for sony FS5?

A: In consulting with the distributor, they have yet to test this with the Sony FS5. But it is my opinion that this will work satisfactorily as you intend. If not, there is the B&H 30 day return policy available to you.

A: This case is designed for one boompole. It may fit two, depending on their dimensions.

This thing works amazingly. I put one piece on my rolling cart and the other on my boom pole. The magnets are super strong and hold the boom in place. It is solid and I recommend to anyone needing to seizure those boom to their cart. 5

This magnetic Boompole holder is great to have. On several occasions Ive been able to attach my Boompole and free my hands up so I can do other things. Its a must have for ENG audio techs. 5

I thought the magnet might get in my way since I do sling on my mixer bag rather than the strap, but it's a good addition to releasing your hands from the boom pole. It is really strong so you kind of have to watch where you're placing the magnet. 5
