The brown Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WL Omnidirectional Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (Sennheiser EW) is a miniature mic designed to deliver a natural vocal sound for recording and live sound reinforcement applications such as concerts, musical theater, interviews, public speaking, and more. Featuring an unobtrusive mic element only 4mm in diameter, it can easily fit behind a button of the performer's clothing or be hidden in a hairline.

The Series8 CO-8WL's omnidirectional polar pattern allows for a variety of mic placement options as it picks up the voice from all directions equally and doesn't need to be lined up with the mouth. The mic offers an IP57 rating, which protects it against water, sweat, and makeup, commonly harmful to microphones.

The unit comes with a windscreen, cable clip, storage box, and an interchangeable 1/8"/3.5mm locking X-Connector for Sennheiser EW Series wireless systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with an XLR cable?

A: They Sennheiser ew 512P G4 system comes with the CL500 receiver 3,5mm male to XLR male receiver output cable (B&H # SECL500), which connects the wireless system to a professional camera, recorder, mixer, etc. An additional CL1 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male receiver output cable (B&H # SECL1) is also included for connection to DSLR cameras and other devices with a 3.5mm input jack.

Q: 2. Hi, I own a Sennheiser EW100 G3 Frequency 643.450 MHZ. I want to buy a EW 112P-G4 Omni Directional Mic to work with my EW100 G3 at the same time on my Gh5 XLR unit. Will these 2 wireless mics work with each other with no interference?

A: Yes, they can be used at the same time without interfering with one another. Please be aware that the FCC recently auctioned the 600mHz band away from wireless users, and wireless systems between 614 and 698 mHz will no longer be able to be used in the U.S. after July 2020. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/bureau-divisions/mobility-division/wireless-microphones

Q: 3. Would this lavalier mic work in europe? italy?

A: The wireless systems that are sold by B&H are intended for use in North America without a license. The FCC regulations vary in different countries, so a license may be required. The A1: 470 to 516 MHz, A: 516 to 558 MHz, and G: 566 to 608 MHz frequency bands for the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System are all able to be used in Italy, however, a license is required. As additional options for a Sennheiser wireless system that you can use in Italy without a license, you may want to consider the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H #SEAVXME2SET4) or the Sennheiser XSW-D LAVALIER SET Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # SEWXSLSTR). The AVX system operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency band and includes a plug-in receiver which can be connected to a 3.5mm mic input using the included XLR to 3.5mm cable. The XSW-D system operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and can also be used with an XLR female to 3.5mm cable to connect to a 3.5mm mic input. Both systems include the Sennheiser ME 2 II Lavalier Microphone, which is the same microphone that is included with the EW 112P G4 system.

Q: 4. Can I split the AF OUT of the EK500 with a 'Y' cable, run one side to my FX6's XLR, the other, to an onboard mini recorder? Thx.

A: Yes, you can use a Y-cable to split the output from a Sennheiser EK 500 Receiver to send the audio to two different devices, like two separate audio recorders, cameras, mixers, etc. You can use a cable like the Saramonic SR-UM10-CC1 3.5mm TRS to Two XLR Male Output Y-Cable for Wireless Mic Systems (B&H # SASRUM10CC1), or use an adapter like the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders (B&H # AL130) together with the 3.5mm receiver output cable and, if needed, additional XLR cables to extend the length.

Q: 5. are these still legal in the US? Here's what the FCC says about frequencies - Unlicensed wireless microphone use is permitted on the 902-928 MHz band, the 1920-1930 MHz, and on portions of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands under specified power levels and rules for operation for each of those bands.

A: These are legal in The US without a liscence. The FCC currently allows wireless microphones in the range of 470-608Mhz to opperate.

Q: 6. Can these lavalier be wirelessly connected to a soundboard?

A: Yes. The Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be connected to a soundboard (mixer). The system comes with two receiver output cables, one with a 3.5mm connector and one with an XLR connector. You can use the cable with the XLR connector to send the output from the receiver into a mic input on the board.

Q: 7. If im shooting with a gopro. Can I connected or somehow use it with my gopro 6?

A: An external microphone can be attached to the Go Pro HERO6 with the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter, B&H # GO35MA.

Q: 8. Does it come with a case?

A: No, it does not. We offer a nice waterproof case from SKB that already has the cut outs for the transmitter and receiver, and has some room for accessories. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1288521-REG/skb_3i_0907_bh1_iseries_waterproof_sennheiser_ew.html

Q: 9. The manual says to set AF Out on the receiver to +18 dB. Is this true? Why not 0db?

A: In general, Camera preamps are not the best quality. +18db ensures that you will need the least amount of preamp gain possible, which will maximize the quality you capture with the camera.

Q: 10. Is there some sort of adapter I can use to plug this into a laptop using USB?

A: An audio interface, such as the the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G, is a great way to get quality audio into your laptop from this wireless sytem. The Sennheiser kit comes with a CL-100 cable that will connect via XLR to the Focusrite device, which includes a USB cable to connect to the laptop.
