Dedicated to the Cambo ACTUS-B-series of view cameras, the ACTAR-24 is a 24mm f/3.5 lens that provides a 60mm image circle to facilitate both shift and rise/fall movements with sensor sizes up to 24 x 36mm. This wide-angle lens is permanently mounted in an ACTUS lensplate for seamless use with the view camera system and features a manual aperture ring for adjustment from f/3.5 to f/22, in half-stop increments. A 16 element in 11 groups optical design is employed to produce clean, sharp imagery with low distortion, making it well-suited to architectural and landscape applications. Each of the elements is also multi-coated to suppress surface reflections and flare for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright lighting conditions.

Designed specifically for the ACTUS-B view camera, this wide-angle lens is permanently mounted in an ACTUS lensplate and maintains infinity focus with both DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. It is not compatible with the ACTUS-DB system.

Featuring an image circle of 60mm, this lens covers full-frame, 24 x 36mm sensors and allows for approximately 10mm of shift per side when working in the horizontal orientation, or 12mm of shift in vertical orientation. When working with APS-C-sized sensors, approximately 15mm and 17mm of shift is available, respectively.

A 16 element in 11 groups optical design affords a high degree of sharpness and resolution, and each individual element is multi-coated to suppress flare and ghosting for maintained contrast when working in strong lighting conditions.

Manual aperture ring affords control from f/3.5 to f/22 in half-stop increments.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this work on the Canon 5ds r camera?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Canon 5DS R.

Q: 2. Would this lens be a worthwhile addition for a Sony a6600, given that I already have the Sony 16-55 G Lens? The small size is very appealing, but image quality is my primary consideration.

A: This lens would be worthwhile if you're using the A6600 specifically for video and need a compact wide angle lens for use with a follow focus or on a gimbal. Otherwise for still applications, the E 16-55mm f/2.8 covers the 24mm focal length already.

Q: 3. Would this system work with my mirrorless EOS R? I still shoot EF via an adapter, but not sure that would affect the function.

A: If you are using the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on the Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera, you can mount your setup directly on the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) without issue.

Q: 4. What cambo Actus to get for Nikon D810 and Carl Zeiss CF 80mm?

A: Cambo kits like the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) are only designed to be used with matching lens and camera: the Nikon version only works with a Nikon F camera and a Nikon f-mount lens.

Q: 5. Is it Weather n dust sealed?

A: Yes, the Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E is designed with dust-and-splash-proof weather resistance protection.

Q: 6. I also have Hasselblad X system digital back, Do I simply buy a rear plate for the digital back and I can use the same camera body?

A: This version would be needed for the XCD mount lenses and camera: https://bhpho.to/3ylTJ88

Q: 7. HI~Can I use a Canon 17mm TS-E lens? Is there any problem with the image circle? If possible, is the focal length maintained at 17mm?

A: Most would not use a tilt shift lens on a device that has tilt and shift. But technically it should work. You will need this Canon EF adapter, Cambo ACB-CA Lensplate with Canon EF Bayonet Mount (Black) BH #CALPCELBB • MFR #99070720 https://bhpho.to/3am0oSh The lens is very wide but covers full frame format. It does depend on the camera you are attaching to the setup but in general it will cover the image and be 17mm.

Q: 8. Will this lens work with the Leica CL ?

A: Yes, the Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary Lens (L-Mount) is compatible with the Leica CL Mirrorless Camera. The camera has a Leica L lens mount.

Q: 9. can this lens be focused manually and if so does it have a switch on the lens barrel ?

A: Yes, it can be focused manually, there is a switch on the barrel.

Q: 10. How does this differ from the Actus G? And would this work with the BMPCC6K Pro on the back? Thanks

A: Yes, you may need to be creative regarding mounting it to be sure it'll fit,. But you could use it with with the BMPCC6K Pro, yes. This and the Actus G are substantially the same but the B2 comes with the various camera mounts as currently shown (June 2021) on this webpage. The tilt, rail, and other adjustment abilities are the same.

Great focus control solid built. Has manuel focus obviously, but isnt really a problem. The only con is tricky metering during tilt and shift. I normally just meter and shoot in manuel making ajustments as I go. Gerat lens for INFINATE dof!!!!

Awsome for Architectural photography. Picture quality is sharp and No chromatic aberration. Price is little bit on higher side but worth it once you see the picture quality.

If you are looking to do some serious Architech or Landscape Photography, this lens is a must have. The Tilt/Shift lens make you think and compose your shots before clicking away. Full Manual and full creative control. Very little distortion in the corners with full frame. No Chromatic Abberations. Crystal clear sharp images. If you are a fast shooter with all Auto and HOPE you got something good. This lens is NOT for you. This lens is for photographers who tell their cameras and lens what to do, not the other way around.

If you have looked up resolution on this lens on The-Digital-Picture you already know it is incredibly sharp and distortion free. It has become my favorite lens for the type of industrial work that I do for heavy industry.

However, I want to address a caveat that several reviewers have made: that it is essential to use a tripod with this lens especially when the tilt function is used. Nonsense. I have taken many pictures with the tilt function hand held. It is not that difficult to set up focus from near to far by going back and forth a bit with the tilt function. When you get it right, all that's necessary is to maintain the same camera angle to the subject. You can stand up, squat down, pivot left or right and the tilt function will work just fine as long as you hold the camera in your hand with the same angle.

This ease of use makes the tilt function amazingly useful for many sorts of photography that are commonly encountered in factories, mills, mines, pipelines, and such. I rarely use a tripod for any photography and hardly ever need to use one with this lens.

I own the old Canon 24mm T/S lens, though it is a good lens, I consistently had chromatic aberration problems and unsharp edges with it. After researching reviews of Canon's new 24mm T/S and noticing that the price was slightly reduced, I decided to buy the new lens. The construction and design are much better than the old 24mm, but I am incredibly happy with the edge sharpness of the new lens and with the lack of chromatic aberration. I own Canon's 24-70mm zoom and found it sharper than my old 24mm. The new 24mm seems sharper than the 24-70 zoom.

Such a unique lens. I read many reviews about it, and while in NY decided to finally pick one up. Takes a little bit of time to get used to it. Certainly not the type of lens you can pick up and master immediately. Super sharp wide open, with amazing image quality. Build quality is superb. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Perfect for the serious landscape or architectural photographer! Very close minimum focal distance too.

As good as my Zeiss 21mm but with additional flexibility. Takes time to get use to if you have never used a tilt/shift lens before.

I mainly take pictures of my kids and this is another tool I use on my arsenal. Going to do some bowling? Use the tilt capabilities to keep the whole lane in focus even at f/3.5. The combination of tilt and shift ca be used to produce some very unique pictures of the family. Colors and picture quality are fantastic! Highly recommended.

The controls and movements are of a top quality. I had previously own TS lenses but this one has to be on the top of the list.
