The Realtree Max4 Lens Cover for Fuji 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR from LensCoat is a waterproof neoprene cover that protects your lens from scrapes and bumps helping to preserve its resale value. The lens cover provides a thermal barrier during cold weather, and breaks up the shape of your lens, making it less visible to wildlife. For ease of use, there is a clear plastic window allowing you to access the AF controls, Image Stabilization controls, and the distance scale without removing the lens cover. This lens cover is made in the USA.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the dimensions of the lens with the hood attached?

A: 12 1/4 inches long when at 100mm and 14 1/2 inches long at 400mm. The hood is 4 3/8 inches across. It's a large lens, but not so bad considering the reach it has.

Q: 2. What is the diameter of the widest part of the lens?

A: What Eden P said.

Q: 3. Fujixt2 remote shutter release

A: Please clarify..asking about lens or camera operation?

Q: 4. Can you use the OIS on the 100-400 MM lens and Fuji XT4 at the same time

A: Yes you can.

Q: 5. Most of the photos on the website with this lens look as if the shooters missed focus. Is this the lens, website, or shooter?

A: The Fujifilm XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens has good optical performance. I am not sure of the focus issue you are seeing, or if the issue may simply be caused by missed focus, improper exposure, or simply the compression algorithm when uploading the image to the internet. In any case, if you purchase the lens and you are not happy with the performance of the Fujifilm XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens, you may return the lens within 30 days for an exchange or a refund.

Q: 6. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: Yes -- not only that it locks so it stays on. Can be reversed for storage and has a little sliding window that lets you adjust polarizers with the hood in place.

Q: 7. Lenses only?

A: Don't understand the question!

Q: 8. Will this lens work on a X-E1?

A: Yes, but it is a large lens and will not be well balanced on the X-E1. You could also consider the Fuji grip, which would be somewhat helpful.

Q: 9. Is there a manual aperture ring on this lens? If so, does it have positive clicks as it is rotated thru different f stops?

A: Yes it does have the clicks.

Q: 10. When you pick up this lens, does it make rattling noise like the 50-140 F2.8 would?

A: I don't own the 50-140, but I do own the 90. This lens makes a similar, but less pronounced clunking noise when powered off. From what I've read, it's a normal result of the focus mechanism.

This lens is awesome. It is really sharp. The autofocus is fast, very fast. I use it with my XPRO2 with great success. I am enjoying every cent. Here are some pictures I took as soon as the lens arrived. I went to a local Zoo and have a blast with it.

Great lens. The image quality is excellent, the autofocus is snappy, all the controls feel great, and the build quality is solid without being overbuilt (super-telephotos can be far too heavy). My only complaint is the unusually small tripod foot which makes it difficult to balance the lens precisely on a tripod. It works, but I ended up purchasing an aftermarket Arca-Swiss compatible foot that works much better. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I am moving from Nikon (D810 and a number of lenses) to Fuji X-T2/T3. In addition to landscapes, macro, and travel photos I like to do bird photography. I am still mastering the focus system on the Fuji cameras and have tested the Fuji 100-400mm lens for several weeks. Thus far I am satisfied. I dont feel I am yet tracking birds in flight as well as with my Nikon, but the image quality is at least comparable. See attached photos.

Beast. For the reach it offers it is reasonably sized, but it is still a beast. Bring a pod.

This is the sharpest zoom in this range that I have experienced. Better than the Canon 100-400L that I used to have. I also don't feel there is much lost with the 2x converter. It performs great. It's a bit of a heavy beast, but so was the Canon.
