The lightweight nXp3.0 2-Channel Multi-Mode Network Power Amplifier from Ashly features programmable output on each channel selectable via rear panel DIP switches with swept load impedance monitoring. Audio is processed via the 32-bit SHARC DSP at 48 or 96 kHz sample rates and a built-in signal generator is provided for test tone and noise-masking.

The nXp3.0 amplifier comes pre-installed with CobraNet network audio module and features aux preamp outputs. Ethernet control is supported via the free Protea NE software (downloadable from Ashly's website) and serial data control is possible via Ashly programmable remotes or third party controllers (available separately). The Protea DSP (Digital Signal Processing) software is included for dynamics, gain, equalization, matrix mixer, crossover, delay, and metering.

The amplifier is suitable for live sound and fixed installation sound systems at performance venues, stadiums, arenas, convention centers as well as schools, store fronts, and places of worship.

Q: 1. Can I get 4 audio channels, like the XLR-K3M can do? I am using the SAMD P3D on A7siii. I can only get one stereo channel to the camera. When I try to set the camera menu to audio hot shoe settings it says my audio device needs to be switch to digital. I cannot find that setting. It worked on the XLR-K3M Camera firmware updated Please advise

A: No, this adapter provides two channels (left and right) of audio to the a7SIII when using a Sony URX-P03D dual-channel wireless receiver. The audio signal sent to the camera is analog, not digital. The adapter enables a wireless connection to the camera's mic input using the Multi-Interface Shoe.

Q: 2. I am shooting with the A7SIII and have been using the UTX-P03D. When I use the dual channel SMAD Unit, the ability to control audio levels in camera is suddenly disabled. Also the in the menu the (MI Shoe Audio Set) option is grayed out, not allowing me to control my levels anymore. Because of this I've been using the 2 channel Sony provided 3.5mm jack. Am I missing something, or does this SMAD unit only provide auto gain with no ability to control audio levels?

A: Awaiting a Call-Back from Sony on this, to confirm compatibility/usability with the A7s iii. One "theory" is that the A7siii is a "consumer" product and may not be (fully?) compatible. The Sony URX-P03D wireless receiver is to used with interface Sony SMAD-P5 Digital MI Shoe Adapter for UWP-D Series. ( https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1484185-REG/sony_smadp5_digital_mi_shoe.html). This is stated as applicable to SELECT Sony cameras (the A7s iii is not listed-see below): Key Features For UWP-D Series URX-P40 Receiver For Camcorders/Cameras with MI Shoe Digital Audio and Data Connection Switchable to Analog Connection Cable-Free Setup Show More The compact Sony SMAD-P5 is a digital Multi Interface (MI) Shoe adapter that allows you to mount the UWP-D Series URX-P40 receiver on select Sony camcorders and cameras equipped with the MI shoe architecture. The adapter eliminates the need for connecting cables, speeding your setup in the field. More Details The adapter also offers seamless integration with the Sony a7R IV and A9 II mirrorless cameras, the PXW-Z280/PXW-Z190 XDCAM camcorders, and the PXW-FX9 camera

Q: 3. Will this adapter work with the FX100?

A: As long as it has the multi adapter hot shoe

Q: 4. Hi Sony z150 4K camcorder working with Sony SMADP3D Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter?

A: Yes it works great together. As long as you have the duel channel receiver the SMADP3D works with the Z150. No cables and no batteries in the receiver needed. The power comes from the cameras battery and the audio also goes through the hot shoe and into the camera.

Q: 5. 1. Can you confirm this can add two channels to an FS5ii - this in addition to the two connections on the camera itself? 2. Would this paired with the Sony URX-P03D allow a Sony A7Sii to record two separate channels of audio? So in post you'd get for example the wireless lav on the left channel and a second wireless lav on the right channel?

A: The two channels it will add are not level adjustable.

Q: 6. Is it true that using this on an FS7 will disable the XLR inputs on the side? One reviewer with an FS7 says, you can assign the hot shoe to be either channel 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. if you use the hot shoe and this adaptor as channel 1 and 2, the xlrs on the side of the camera dont work.

A: I used this adapter and the XLR inputs on a Sony FS7 mark ii allowing me to record 4 input channels of audio simultaneously. This may not be the case for the first generation FS7 but I had no issues on the mark ii. The only thing was the hot shoe inputs MUST be inputs 1&2 then XLR inputs on channels 3&4.

Q: 7. Will this work on the a6300 using the dual channel wireless receiver?

A: The Sony SMADP3D Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter is compatible with the Sony a6300. User may connect the Sony URX-P03D 2-Channel Portable Receiver to the a6300 using this multi-interface shoe adapter.

Q: 8. I have a Sony HDR-SR10, which lacks a 3.5mm external mic input, or any sort of external mic input. It has the HSI. Will this adapter allow for the camera to use the audio signal from a receiver via the HSI, since there is no other mic input on the HDR-SR10? If so, I can look into purchasing this adapter.

A: The SMAD-P3D is compatible with select cameras that feature Sony's Multi-Interface shoe. Unfortunately not compatible with the HDR-SR10.

Q: 9. What's the difference between this and the cheaper non D smad-p3 version?

A: The SMADP3D is designed for use with the new Sony URX-P03D dual channel receiver.

Q: 10. Can I use this with the Sony A7iii?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Sony A7iii.
