The VB-M50B 1.3MP PTZ Network Camera from Canon features a 1.3MP 1/3" progressive scan RGB CMOS sensor to capture 1280 x 960 resolution video at up to 30 fps. This camera is equipped with a 17.7-88.5mm varifocal lens, which provides a 5x optical zoom and a 15.6-3.2° horizontal field of view. The camera offers a pan, tilt, and zoom mechanism with the ability to set up to 64 preset positions and schedule up to five preset tour routes, eliminating the need for repeated manual adjustment of the PTZ positions.

Clear IR Mode activates an infrared bandpass filter that allows only infrared light to pass through to the image sensor to help capture high-quality images in even challenging environments. Auto Gain Control allows users to determine the fine balance of video brightness and low noise, while haze compensation automatically enhances contrast and maximizes image quality when fog, haze, or smog are present. In addition, the camera features video analytics including moving object detection and removed and abandoned object detection.

With the CCMT (Canon Camera Management Tool), users can configure and manage Canon Network Cameras from a single screen. Configuration is also simplified via ONVIF Profile S and G for maximum interoperability with many video management software (VMS) solutions. Additionally, the camera's bit rate stabilization feature can assure a more reliable connection by automatically suppressing bandwidth spikes when transmitting over a cellular data network.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What bare bulb would be a replacement for the bolt vb-11?

A: No, the Bolt Flashtube for VB-22 Bare-Bulb Flash does not work in the Bolt VB-11 Flash. And there is no replacement that works in the VB-11 flash.

Q: 2. Does it have any adjustments for people who wear glasses?

A: On the rear is a eyepiece focusing ring that adjusts for most every eye even those with glasses.

Q: 3. Does this have a setting for s35 sensors?

A: this has all standard film formats including standard S35 sensor size

Q: 4. Would this work for a bmpcc 4k? So I could do framing and see how various lenses would look? Both speed boosted lenses and native mft lenses.

A: The supported formats are as follows: 16mm film: 8.5-100mm; S16mm: 10.5-125mm; 35mm: 18-200mm 35mm Anamorphic: 35-420mm; 1/2" Video: 6.5-80mm; 2/3" Video: 8.5-75mm; 1" Video: 10.5-125mm -- The BMPCC 4k is virtually the same as a S16mm, thus you should be well covered.

Q: 5. There are several apps for my phone that has the same features. What is the main difference? Why should I buy this appose to using an app?

A: Your preferred app will probably do what you need it to do, but if you wanted an organic, optical option, then you would not be as well served by any app, as this is a piece of hardware that is NEVER wrong. There are no glitches, no margins of error. This is optical technology in pure form.

Q: 6. Does this replicate the lens compression of the chosen focal length?

A: Formats16mm film: 8.5-100mmS16mm: 10.5-125mm35mm: 18-200mm35mm Anamorphic: 35-420mm1/2 Video: 6.5-80mm2/3 Video: 8.5-75mm1 Video: 10.5-125mm

Q: 7. I bought one - when you turn the ring(s), the entire barrel spins so the whole frame rotates and throws off all the readings. Is this normal??

A: As I used this device for years, I should be of assistance. With the top, narrow ring, select the aspect ratio you are shooting in. Hold the viewfinder to your eye and rotate the lower, fatter ring to obtain the frame you wish. Then look at the scales on the outside of the barrel to ascertain the lens mm for the camera. For the highest accuracy possible, I suggest giving this to your camera assistant and have them test it for accuracy. They can make new index marks that match your camera and lenses if necessary.

Q: 8. How much does it weigh and what is the length?

A: It weighs about a 1/2lbs and is about 4-5 .

Q: 9. Will this camera work with Zoom meetings?

A: No, unless you use the HDMI out into an USB capture card.

Q: 10. Can I use this Viewfinder with the Sony F5 or Canon 300?

A: The Alan Gordon Enterprises Mark Vb Director's Viewfinder (B&H# ALDVFM5B) does not fit onto a camera but rather is used as a standalone viewfinder. As such, it may be used while filming with any camera including the Sony PMW-F5 CineAlta Digital Cinema Camera (B&H# SOPMWF5) or Canon EOS C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera Body (EF Lens Mount) (B&H #CAC3003EF) in order to get an idea of the framing of the image in 16mm, 35mm, and other sizes of film or sensor formats.
