The 4.5' Background Leader Bar from Savage is an aluminum bar that attaches to the bottom of vinyl, cloth, and paper backgrounds. The Leader Bar separates and closes via its hinge easily. It adds weight to the background to eliminate wrinkles from cloth and prevent curling of paper rolls. Also, when the Background Leader is attached to the background, it helps create an evenly draped sweep to the floor. In addition, a 53" x 36' #01 Super White paper background is included.

A: Definitely cannot accommodate large group shots. I use mine for a dance studio as well. It's not really able to be used in the way in which Savage advertises it. I was hoping to use it as a corner backdrop, to gain width. Unfortunately, one is used to shoot on and the other reflects light using white paper. I wouldn't purchase it again.

A: According to Savage, each cross bar consists of 4 sections, totaling 12 feet. It can also be used with only three crossbar sections when 10' wide applications are needed.

A: So long as you do not add too much of a softbox it should be doable, but obviously it will not hold the background at the same time.

A: Most standard rolls are approximately 15lbs. The stand is solid and has never had a problem holding the paper rolls.
