Q: 1. Will this give TTL on mirrorless as well?

    A: Yes

Q: 2. Hello. I have a basic manual flash which supports S1 and S2 modes. Can I use this receiver to sync with my Nissin i60A in HSS mode? I have the air 1 commander. Thank you.

A: Using the Manual flash on the Nissin Air receiver will not give you HSS in the S1 or S2 setting.

Q: 3. Presently I have a Metz Mecablitz 64 for Nikon and a Nikon D610. Will the Air R allow use of TTL radio control of the Metz by the 610 (with, of course, the updated firmware Nissin Air 1 installed on the 610)?

A: Since the Air R Receiver works with Nikon compatible flashes with i-TTL capability, it could work with the Metz Mecablitz 64AF-1 for Nikon. However, we are not aware of any tests that confirm this.

Q: 4. Will this work with Godox, Profoto, and other studio strobes? I've been waiting for Nissin to make an equivalent strobe like the Profoto B2 for more power than their current offering. So will this trigger studio strobes with TTL and most importantly HSS?

A: No it will not trigger your strobes with TTL or HSS. The Air R receiver is primarily made to work with Sony MIS flashes. In this case, it will support TTL and HSS with those flashes. The Air R receiver does have a PC out so you can trigger a studio strobe but that is all. You would have no control what so ever of the studio strobe.

Q: 5. Could I use the Nissin Air 1 Commander for Fuji Cameras on my X100F in conjunction with the Nissin Air R Receiver for Canon Flashes attached to my Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT ?

A: Unfortunately, this receiver can only be triggered by a Nissin Air 1 Commander for Canon.

Q: 6. Has anyone used this with the Godox V1 Pro? The flash has the external battery slot that would allow this to plug in directly.

A: I contacted the manufacturer concerning your inquiry. According to Bolt Flashes, the Bolt P12 Compact Battery Pack for Canon Flashes has been tested and found to be compatible for use with the Godox V1Pro C Flash for Canon. The battery pack will reduce the recycle time by approximately 50% when the flash is set to full power.

Q: 7. I have several Metz 64 ttl flashes for Sony. Would I be able to use the Nissin air R and a Nissin air transmitter to trigger my Metz 64 ttl flashes?

A: It should work according to Nissin as long as all of the flashes have the same multi-interface hotshoe.but only testing will tell.

Q: 8. So, are these TTL with Canon (5D3/1Dx/7D etc. and EF lenses)? There is a reference to a TTL pass through shoe but no outright TTL description as in the general non-Canon version of the Hahnel triggers.Thank you.

A: The transmitter does not transmit TTL data to the receivers, only to the flash mounted on it while it's on the camera. This is not a wireless TTL system but does allow you to control the power of the flashes wirelessly.

Q: 9. Can we use this receiver with Metz BL 400 studio flash and Sony a6000

A: This receiver can be connected to a Metz BL 400 monolight using the standard sync cord into the sync terminal of the receiver. You can then fire the flash using the Nissin Air 1 Commander for Sony Cameras with Multi Interface Shoe B&H # NINDA1S. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 10. Will a Nissin Air commander on a Sony mirrorless allow TTL to transmit to a Nissin Air Receiver for Nikon attached to a Nikon Speedlight? I'd like to use my a6300 with my Nikon flashes that I already own using the Nissin Air system. Will this work since they the receiver and commander are paired and can talk to each other?

A: This combination will not give you TTL control, of your Nikon flashes, only manual control. When using the Nissin Air R Receiver with the Nissin Air 1 Commander, they both must be of the same make, i.e. Nikon/Nikon. Sony/Sony in order to maintain TTL control.
