Q: 1. Where can i find an ICC profile for my Canon Image prograf iPF 6350 printer and Hahnemuhle photorag pearl 320gsm paper.

Q: 2. Is the Hahnemuhle Paper compatible with Roland Solvent ink printers?

A: It is not compatible with Roland Solvent Ink Printers.

Q: 3. Is this paper archival?

A: Yes, the Hahnemühle Fineart Pearl Paper is archival. This would need to be printed on with archival pigment inks and handed appropriately for true archival quality.

Q: 4. Can it be printed with a Hp 560 water based printer ?

A: It can be used but it is not designed for latex printers so your results may be to your liking.

Q: 5. Can it be printed with a Epson Sure Color P7500 inject printer?

A: Yes, one can print on the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl Paper (320gsm) for Inkjet - 24" Wide Roll - 39' Long with the Epson SureColor P7500.

Q: 6. What paper settings should I use with Canon imagePrograf 4600 printer? (I know about ICC profile)

Q: 7. I have a Canon Pro 10 and would naturally like to know how well this paper works with pigments?

A: You should have no problems with this paper on your Cannon Pro 10. It's now my preferred paper for enlarged prints for framing, using my Epson Stylus Pro 4800. Moab discontinued their Colorado Satine paper, and this paper proved to be the closes match with the Hahnemuhle being a little thicker @ 300 gsm. Being a Baryta paper, it still retains a very clean white base compared to other brands that I tested with 8.5X11 sheets. Compared to the Moab, side by side, it has just a very slight Baryta (warm tone) tint. Moab's Juniper Baryta Rag (305 gsm) is their new paper that replaced the Colorado, didn't cut it. It's to warm and has a sheen and texture that not normal for a Semi Gloss/Satine surface. Long story short, setup the paper profile, color calibrate your monitor, and test before printing larger sizes. You'll like this paper.

Q: 8. what printer do you recommend for this paper?

A: A high quality inkjet photo printer i.e. Epson P700/900 & above, Canon Pro 10/100/1000/300 & above.

Q: 9. A question regarding the excellent review (Kevin) of Hahnemuhle WT 310 Matte: The review mentions a clay stabilizer being compromised due to the texture of the paper. Does that clay originate in the printer head and become dislodged and then create the clog? If so, which printer is referred to?

A: The clay isn't in the printer head; it's in the paper. ALL inkjet-specific papers have a clay stabilizer as it is vitally important to how the paper works: The clay stabilizer provides a consistently receptive surface to receive the ink droplets so that tones and colours are consistent across the paper. The stabilizer also has the function of dramatically reducing the amount of ink required to create a saturated image. To those who don't understand this concept, two points:1. Print on regular art papers, like watercolour. It will work, but the print quality will be very poor, colour and density will be awful, even with double the amount of ink compared to inkjet-specific papers.2. Use a knife to scrape the printable surface of any inkjet-specific paper. It will produce a fine white powder, or chips that can be broken up to form a powder (depending on how much binder is in use). This is why most papers, including this one, are single-sided -- because the stabilizer is only applied to one side of the paper. Others like Moab Entrada have the stabilizer applied to both surfaces. All such papers have a lignin-free substrate to make them archival, but you are not printing on the substrate; your ink never reaches it. Again, this is trivial to demonstrate by making a print, then gently scraping the stabilizer away to reveal the paper substrate beneath.-- Kevin

Q: 10. Can you print on both sides? If only one side, which side? They both look identical.

A: No, the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 Matte FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards) , B&H # HAPR46308, has a specific printing side. When you open the tin, the printing side will be facing up. The back can only be used to print text like your name, contact information, etc. It is best practice to print the text on the backside first and once it has dried, print on the front.

The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 'Ultra Smooth' is much better than the original Photo Rag. I love the smooth texture of this paper.

I just can't find another paper that produces this level of clarity that is also forgiving to handle. I cold mount 40x60 inch prints in my studio with roll adhesive and this paper will show 0 imperfections if dust or glue bunches up underneath, is easy to reposition, and behind glass, still produces the deep blacks I prefer from luster paper.

I've used Hahnemuhle paper for year. I used German Etching Matte for years before I added Photo Rag Ultra Smooth Matte to the lineup. Both are excellent. While the texture of German Etching can pick up detail in some land and seascapes, the velvet smooth surface of Photo Rag Ultra Smooth is fantastic for portraits, the human figure, and some abstractions.

Love this paper. It is a pleasure to print on and the prints, when chosen well, are spectacular. This paper lives up to the high standards of Hahnemuhle papers.

Love this paper for creating the best prints of my artwork. Just wish it wasn't so darn expensive but I guess you have to pay for quality. Did enjoy the sale that B&H had on the product this week.
