A: The DS 40 will print 2-up on 4x6 paper when two 2x6 size are printed. A pack of 4x6 paper and ribbon costs $109 and will yield approximately 800 prints. You can view all the accessories on our web page under Accessories.

Q: 2. Does this package work on DNP DS-RX1HS printer?

A: No I believe the rx1 takes its own paper you should look at the dnp website to confirm this

Q: 3. When changing paper rolls at mid-roll, 3 sheets will get cut off during paper installation. Does this mean I loose 3 sheets every time I change paper type?

A: Yes, as part of its start up procedure after you load with paper it will cycle and cut three sheets short sheets. Once the paper is loaded your good to go it will not cut anymore if you turn the printer off and then back on it is just when you load the paper. I have both the DS40 and the DS80 great printers!

Q: 4. Does the driver work with Windows 10?

A: When you upgrade to windows 10 you will need your DNP40 driver.

Q: 5. If you choose to print Matte instead of Glossy does that effect the number of prints you get per ribbon?

A: The matte or glossy finish does not affect the amount of prints you get per ribbon.

Q: 6. what is the shelf life?

A: I think it should last forever. No ink involved. I love this printing process.

Q: 8. How do you use the spacers with 5x7 paper. Anything special needed for the ribbon?

A: You can ONLY use 5x7 paper with the spacers and correct 5x7 dnp ds40 media/paper.... It CANNOT BE USED WITH DS40 6X8 MEDIA/PAPER

Q: 9. Can you print an 8x12 on 8x10 paper pack? If not I don't understand why. If you can print an 8x10 on the 8x12 pack what's the difference? The total amount of paper seems to be the same and they are both 8in wide...

A: The 8x10 print pack's ribbon is only set up for 8x10 as it's CMY+ ink sections are only 8x10 in size. The 8x12 ribbon ink sections are 8x12 allowing you to only use an 8x10 section of it when printing 8x10.
