Does it all.

I mainly used the computer with Adobe CC, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, so far I have no problems with the computer at all, I purchased it with a 1100$ manufacture rebate

This is a powerful and fast computer that will handle all video and photography needs. Small footprint and very quiet.

I shoot and edit a ton of 2.5k and 4k content, and I needed a machine that could eliminate some of the waiting I was doing on my previous Mac Pro (2010). I immediately upgraded to 64GB RAM, which I recommend, and it's awesome. I can now transcode 2.5k in real time or slightly less than real time. I was doing 4k transcoding at roughly 7x real time, and on this machine it does it in 3x. So that's a significant time saver. I've already maxed out the USB ports, and the one thing that's a bit of a pain is there are no front-facing ports of any kind. I knew that when I bought it, just didn't think about what a pain it would be to constantly be behind the computer. I plan to add a thunderbolt dock of some sort to give me easy-access USB ports.

I bought this to replace an 8+ year old MacPro tower. I need a MacPro vs. an iMac because I process photos I take and I use a calibrated display (you can't calibrate an iMac; you can only create a so-so accurate profile). Once this new machine was set up, I've been happily surprised at the performance. Very fast, particularly the graphics system. Photoshop opens and performs operations quickly (the old machine was starting to bog down despite having 16GB RAM). This machine, with 32GB RAM (I did the upgrade from the stock 12GB), is sufficiently fast for my large digital files (up to 100MB from a medium format camera). I like the speed of Thunderbolt 2. Not as fast as the new TB3, but way faster than my old machine and FireWire 800. The only glitch I ran into was the need to buy a new Display Port to mini-Display Port cable. Once I had done that, I now get full HD resolution at 60Hz on my display. Overall, this machine has been a 5-star upgrade.

I bought this for photo editing w/LR&PS. Special pricing from B&H sealed the deal for me. Pairing this with an Eizo Cs2730 & Canon Pro 1000 printer gives this amateur all I need. B&H is THE place to shop for photo gear. I hope to be a customer for another 30 years. THX again guys!

I have been wanting to upgrade to MAC PRO to run my ProTools home DAW for sometime and when I saw this for $1000 off I had t buy. I am not disappointed, using with a 34 monitor and can open mixer and recording windows in a large size, no problems with processing power to run plugins and outboard gear. I upgraded ram from stock 12GB to 16GB for about $30 ( one 4GB stick) and that is enough for now. fastest boot and program load times I have ever seen.

This replaces my old 2009 MacPro and it is at least 2-3x faster at most tasks. The SSD drive averages between 800-900MBs read/write! The system boots in 4 seconds, apps load instantaneously and having Thunderbolt 2 drives attached I get incredibly fast storage now as well as the ability to run 4K displays. Biggest bonus is being able to run it all day with low power consumption and very little heat even when doing heavy tasks such as video encoding or working in Lightroom.
