The SR IEM G4 Stereo Transmitter from Sennheiser is an addition to their evolution series of wireless systems. It features wideband FM stereo modulation and can be used when paired with a companion receiver as part of a wireless RF monitoring system for live stage, theater, and rehearsal applications.

The stereo transmitter is equipped with 1680 frequencies tunable in 25 kHz steps and has 20 fixed frequency banks, with up to 16 compatible frequency presets and 6 user banks with up to 16 user-programmable frequencies. The receiver's menu-driven backlit OLED display shows current frequency, frequency bank and channel number, metering of AF level, transmission status, equalizer settings, lock status, and input sensitivity. An auto-lock feature is provided to prevent settings from being accidentally altered.

Additionally, associated receivers can be synchronized with the transmitter via an integrated infrared interface. This transmitter is built with two electronically balanced XLR/1/4" combo sockets, a 1/4" headphone output with headphone volume control, an Ethernet port (RJ-45 for remote network-based monitoring), and a 50 Ohm BNC-type antenna input. Finally, it has a rugged metal housing and includes a 12 V power supply and a GA 3 rackmount kit.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does each transmitter (bodypack SESK500G4AW or plug on SESKP500G4AW) need it's own receiver or can the receiver take multiple input signals cleanly to one output?

A: The Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver allows a single transmitter connection at any time. Each Sennheiser transmitter requires its own dedicated receiver.

Q: 2. I see that the transmitters come in 3 different frequency ranges. I would like to purchase 3 separate units. Is it necessary to buy 3 different frequencies

A: You can use 3 systems in the same frequency band without worrying about interference between them.

Q: 3. With the "2x MKE 2 Omni Lav & Plug-On Combo", will I need a third receiver to run both lavs and the plug-on at the same time?

A: The EK500 G4 receiver in each set included in the Sennheiser EW 500 G4 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System Kit is a single channel receiver capable of receiving wireless signal from either the body pack or plug-on transmitter. To utilize the lavaliers at the same time as the plug-on transmitter, extra receivers would indeed need to be implemented. Here is the link to the spare EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver on its own for adding onto this kit: https://bhpho.to/3OBTkWc. Be sure to order a spare receiver on the same frequency range chosen for the combo kit.

Q: 4. Will this work with the EW100-S3 model?

A: The SKP-100 G4 transmitter will work with EW100 G3 receivers as long as the frequency bands match.

Q: 5. How many transmitters can be used simultaneously with this receiver?

A: Hi Greg - the EK 100 G4 is a single channel, UHF receiver, so for each transmitter you want to use, you’ll need a corresponding number of receivers. Depending on your rig, there are many different options and accessories to outfit your wireless system to maximize your setup possibilities.

Q: 6. Why would this NOT work with a EW100 G3 transmitter in the same frequency range?

A: The Sennheiser EW100 series wireless components use a different/separate wireless communication protocol that prevents them from properly communicating with products from the IEM series such as the Sennheiser EK IEM G4 Stereo Bodypack Receiver with IE 4 Earphones (A: 516 to 558 MHz), even when tuned to the same frequency.

Q: 7. Does this work with the ew 100 g3 body pack?

A: Yes, the EM 300-500 G4 receiver is compatible with G3 series transmitters.

Q: 8. Is it possible to use both the handheld and the lavaliere at the same time with the one receiver?

A: No, only one transmitter at a time. For two wireless transmitters to work simultaneously you will need an additional system and each system will have to be tuned to different frequencies.

Q: 9. What is the latency on this receiver?

A: The Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver and the EW G4 series operate with zero latency since the audio signal is sent by the transmitter to the receiver using an analog protocol.

Q: 10. Will the model work with the Sennheiser G3 wireless receivers?

A: Yes it will. The G4 series are completely backwards compatible.
