Q: 1. I shoot a lot of photos of my daughter's youth symphony from my seat. Therefore I need a decent zoom. However the lighting in the thearter is not always the best and the fact they're playing (action) shots and no flash being allowed. Most of my D3100 Nikon shots were blurry. Wondering if this camera would perform better?

A: Set up auto ISO for minimum shutter speed of 1/125 or so, open the aperture as wide as possible for your zoom range, and make some pics. You may push the ISO a little higher than you like, resulting in some noisy images. You can either live with the out-of-camera results, or do some noise reduction post processing. This is an amazing camera; I suspect you can make it work for you.

Q: 2. I went to a local store to get a feel for the RX10IV before buying it from B&H and to ask a couple of questions. I left confused so am turning to this forum.1. Does this camera feature silent shooting? The Sony expert said no and there was no way to reduce the electronic shutter noise. Of those of you who have purchased, can you confirm? A: Hello Deb, there is no silent shutter. But you can turn off audio signals and the leaf shutter is pretty discreet. As for the remote you can of course use your smartphone with the Playmemories app but also use these models of remotes RM-SPR1, RM-VPR1, RMT-VP1K.

A: Absolutely. I was shooting at the 960fps HFR mode, and it only allowed 2 seconds of recording. It then took 2 minutes to buffer to memory.
