The nickel Neumann U 67 Set is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone designed as a faithful reissue of the legendary vintage U 67 for vocalists, musicians, and recording engineers in home, project, and commercial studios. It features the venerable K 67 capsule, a BV 12 output transformer, and EF86 tubes that are prudently chosen for ideal sonic characteristics.

Its three selectable polar patters, omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8, provide versatility for both close and distant miking configurations. A -10 dB pad raises the maximum SPL from 114 dB to 124 dB, allowing you to record loud sound sources without distortion. The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response can be tailored to counteract proximity effect via the switchable low-cut filter.

The U67 Set ships with a matching shockmount, proprietary XLR 7-pin cable, and redesigned power supply in a sturdy aluminum case.

Sonically, this reissue is identical to the U 67 made from 1960 to 1971; It uses the same capsule and electronic design. Key parts, such as the BV 12 output transformer, are meticulously reproduced according to original documentation. EF86 tubes are carefully selected for optimal characteristics and lowest noise in a dedicated measurement facility. The power supply was redesigned to meet today's strict safety requirements and to accommodate the slightly higher filament current of newer premium grade tubes. The new power supply NU 67 V is fully compatible with older U 67 microphones.

The U 67 was the first microphone equipped with the famous K 67 capsule, which has since become associated with the Neumann sound, and continues to be used in its successor, the U 87 A. No less important is the U 67's masterful tube circuit featuring a clever pre-emphasis/de-emphasis scheme to minimize tube hiss. The U 67 was also the first microphone to address modern recording techniques such as close miking. Its switchable low-cut filter compensates for the proximity effect occurring at short recording distances. Using its -10 dB pad, the U 67 can handle high sound pressure levels of up to 124 dB without distortion (and much more if you don't mind a bit of "tube grit").

The U67 Set includes a matching shockmount, power supply, and proprietary 7-pin XLR cable. The mic and its accessories fit snugly in the supplied aluminum carry case.

I am using these tubes to increase magnification of my 105 mm Nikor macro lens beyond 1:1. The tubes seem sturdy, are easy to mount and function well for auto focus. I find that there is some vignetting in the corners with all three tubes mounted, so I have settled on using the 20 + 36 mm tubes. At the closest focus (about 3 inches), this gives me about a 2 cm wide field of view. Still a little vignette, but it is removed when I stitch focus staked images together.

These Extension Tubes (set of 3) are great. No need to spend 2 or 3 times the money. You get auto focusing with the canon models and the take up no room in you bag at all. Get into macro photography and don't mortgage your house to do so by buying a macro lens or an expensive set of tubes.

These macro tubes fit seamlessly. They preform as advertised. I recommend every dslr camera owner to have a set in their bag.

I bought these extension tubes to delay the need for a macro lens. They work great at reducing the minimum focusing distance of my prime lens. These Vello extension tubes are not as sharp as using a macro lens but are well suited for those who do occasional macro work and are on a tight budget.

All my lenses work great with them even my L lenses. I love the Full auto mode. I spent 3x the price to get the full EOS mode!

Great way to reduce MFD of my telephoto lens. I have used it for close-ups of birds that come to our feeder. I like the feather detail I get when I can get closer to the bird and don't have to crop the image as much.

I found these to be very good, well made and suiting my purpose and budget perfectly. Once I got used to putting them on and taking them off the camera, I found them to be great. I was able to place my 105mm Nikkor on the biggest and next biggest tube and experienced no vignetting. I was able to get as close as 3 inches from my subject in the above configuration. Very pleased!

These work as well as more expensive ones that I have rented. No loss of communication between the lens and the camera. These are the best bang you'll get for your buck and I've tested a few models.
