I bought it to try something new and challenge myself to use more manual modes. With Panasonic GX85 camera this lens works great. I really loved the swirl bokeh effect this lens produces. It's fun to use and so tiny. I had to set the Focus Peeking in camera setting to Low so that I can see what is in focus because F1.4 is really razor thin focus area. It does similar effect stopping down as well. The colors are nice and vibrant which was great surprise. Overall a great little lens to go around and enjoy taking photos. 5

I use this lens on my Sony a6000 and my FS7 and it looks great. It’s made of metal and a 2.8 cine lens. I’ve become a big fan of these SLR Magic microprime lenses and now have several of them. 5

You cannot expect results similar to Leica, Zeiss etc, but when I give it 5 stars I take price into consideration. I was surprised by sharpness and contrast in the sweet spot, and soon discovered that the main flaw of this lens; a strongly curved focus field, can be used for very practical purposes. Put your main subject in the middle, and another one near the edge; much closer to the camera, and you can have both crisp sharp at f 1,7! Brilliant for video! 5

I was first impressed by the sturdy make of the lens and it didn't take long to fall in love with the picture that comes from it. I actually purchased the 35 first for my fuji X-T3 (crop sensor/1.8) and loved it so much that I immediately ordered this one. at 1.8 crop it is probably the equivalent of a 19 or 20mm but this is actually quite good because the unused portion of the image would probably be the distorted part. The focus is smooth yet must be moved with intention which is great. The small form factor of this series of lenses makes it great for moving fast and handheld so you can get a cinematic look without having to constantly be attached to rigging. As you'll read from the description, the focus and iris rings are in common places on all the lenses for quick follow focus re-application when changing lenses. I think I want one more in my set so will probably get the 75 as soon as I have a job that requires it :) 5

Pros: 1. The good solid build and heavy lens. 2. Bokeh is solid. 3. A good pick-up for the price (Im leaving it in my bag now, over the Sony FE 50mm). Cons: Flaring is very noticeable. That odd F/8-22 jump on the dial 5

I've been using this lens for a few days now, i really enjoy the showmo footage I've gotten with it as well as some portrait pictures. For the price ($60) this is an excellent deal. It's decently sharp and easy to use, i will recommend adding a focusing ring to differentiate a bit faster focus and aperture. 5

I love shooting pinhole on digital, and this glass pinhole offers protection against anything that may try and come in through the lens hole. This lens is a pinhole with a glass filter infront of it. This is a great design compared to the standard raw hole approach, and in my opinion better than the painted on glass technique as well. 5

Well made and functions smoothly. Sharp enough; not razor sharp. Excellent contrast but be careful about flare. It's not a Cooke or an Arri but it's probably all the lens you'll need. 5
