The Sennheiser SKM 100 G4 is a handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with the EM 100 G4 wireless receiver. It features an interchangeable microphone capsule design and is offered without a capsule included, so you can choose the one that best fits your application. The transmitter provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a fixed 30mW RF power output and a transmission range up to 330'.

The rugged, all-metal SKM 100 G4 doesn't offer a mute switch. An adjustable gain allows you to set the optimal level for your voice. When the Sync function on the receiver is engaged, the transmitter and receiver quickly link to the same frequency via infrared. A backlit LCD displays essential information and provides fast menu access. The transmitter can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance.

The unit can be powered via two AA batteries or a rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). With the LA 2 charging adapter and the L 2015 quick-charging unit (both available separately), the Accupack can be recharged without removing it from the transmitter.

The transmitter's interchangeable capsule design allows you to use a variety of optional dynamic and condenser mic capsules, with pickup patterns ranging from wide omnidirectional to narrow supercardioid—capsules include the MMD 835, MMD 845, MME 865, MMD 935, MMD 945, and MMD 42.

The SKM 100 G4 is backward compatible with all previous evolution systems. You can mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 300/500 systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this receiver be used with an ew 100 G3 transmitter?

A: Yes, the G4 receivers are backwards compatible with G3 transmitters. Just be sure the frequency ranges match.

Q: 2. Does each transmitter (bodypack SESK500G4AW or plug on SESKP500G4AW) need it's own receiver or can the receiver take multiple input signals cleanly to one output?

A: The Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver allows a single transmitter connection at any time. Each Sennheiser transmitter requires its own dedicated receiver.

Q: 3. Are these transmitters compatible with an older Sennheiser lavalier set?

A: It depends on the set and frequency bank. Please call our phone line for clarification.

Q: 4. Is the power supply 110~220v automatic?

A: Yes the included power supply in the Sennheiser EW 100 G4-ME2/835-S Wireless Combo Microphone System is 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz compatible.

Q: 5. How many clip-on mics(ME2-II Lavalier) can be used at one time with this receiver?

A: This combo kit allows for one mic to be used: either the handheld transmitter or the lavalier mic with the belt pack tranmitter. Additional lavalier microphones would need a full wireless system, such as the Sennheiser EW 100 G4-ME2 Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (A1: 470 to 516 MHz), BH #SEEW100G4MA1.

Q: 6. When using the plug-on combo, does that make you have to choose between using the receiver with the plug on or the lav mic? So if I wanted to use both at the same time, would it mean that I need to purchase a second receiver?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System gives you the option of using either the bodypack transmitter or the plug-on transmitter with the receiver. You would need to purchase a second receiver on the same frequency band to be able to use both transmitters at the same time.

Q: 7. What is the difference between A1, A, and G? What should I use if I'm filming mainly in Los Angeles?

A: Sennheiser breaks up the legal frequency range for wireless microphones of 470-608 MHz into three blocks. I would recommend the A1 block for Los Angeles, which is 540-516 MHZ. But all of the three groups have 1680 frequencies, and the ability to auto scan to find a clean channel.

Q: 8. does the receiver work with both of the plug in and the body pack?

A: It works with both transmitters however it does not function with both at the same time, is either the plug on transmitter or the lavalier bodypack one at the time.

Q: 9. Will the plug-on wireless transmitter attach properly to a side-exit XLR boom pole (particularly K-Tek Avalon), or will it not attach firmly enough, please? Would it be necessary to buy something like a K-Tek KlassicPro upgraded to their KPTA plug-on TX adapter? Is there another brand/model of boom pole that would suit the Sennheiser plug-on TX?

A: The SKP 100 G4 Plug-On Transmitter within the Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System may not attach firmly to a side-exit XLR connection on a boompole. The transmitter features a fastening collar to tighten however it is uncertain whether this is sufficient to prevent the connection from loosening. The KPTA Sidekick Plug-On may help in that it keeps the transmitter in a more ideal orientation.

Q: 10. What is best frequency range for use in Middle East countries?

A: For the best frequencies of the Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System to use in different international locations, we recommend referencing Sennheiser's International Frequency Advisor (SIFA): https://bit.ly/3zldCN1
