The Sennheiser SKM 100 G4-S is a handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with the EM 100 G4 wireless receiver. It features an interchangeable microphone capsule design and is offered without a capsule included, so you can choose the one that best fits your application. The transmitter provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a fixed 30mW RF power output and a transmission range up to 330'.

The rugged, all-metal SKM 100 G4-S features a mute function and can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance. An adjustable gain allows you to set the optimal level for your voice. When the Sync function on the receiver is engaged, the transmitter and receiver quickly link to the same frequency via infrared. A backlit LCD displays essential information and provides fast menu access.

The unit can be powered via two AA batteries or a rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). With the LA 2 charging adapter and the L 2015 quick-charging unit (both available separately), the Accupack can be recharged without removing it from the transmitter.

The transmitter's interchangeable capsule design allows you to use a variety of optional dynamic and condenser mic capsules, with pickup patterns ranging from wide omnidirectional to narrow supercardioid—capsules include the MMD 835, MMD 845, MME 865, MMD 935, MMD 945, and MMD 42.

The SKM 100 G4-S is backward compatible with all previous evolution systems. You can mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 300/500 systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is different between EK 100 G4 and EM 100 G4

A: The EK 100 is portable, runs on batteries, the K is for use on a camera (K is for Kamera). The EM100 is designed for a fixed location; requires electricity I think the M stands for mountable.

Q: 2. Are there any compatible antennas for this to extend the range?

A: No. The Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System includes the bodypack-style EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver, which has an integrated/molded antenna, the receiver cannot be used with an external antenna. If you swap the EK 500 receiver and use the Sennheiser EM 300-500 G4 Wireless Receiver (such as B&H # SEEM3005MGAP for AW+: 470 to 558 MHz frequency band), you will be able to use remote mount antennas or half-wave antennas for extended range. However, the EM 300-500 requires AC power and is not camera-mountable, so that could be a drawback if you need to have a portable, battery-powered system.

Q: 3. Does each transmitter (bodypack SESK500G4AW or plug on SESKP500G4AW) need it's own receiver or can the receiver take multiple input signals cleanly to one output?

A: The Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver allows a single transmitter connection at any time. Each Sennheiser transmitter requires its own dedicated receiver.

Q: 4. Will this work with the older EK 100 G3 wireless system?

A: Yes, Sennheiser G4 series components are backwards compatible for use with G3 series components. Just be sure that the frequency bands are the same on the receiver and transmitter.

Q: 5. Is this receiver compatible with the SKM 835-XSW-A Handheld Mic? Or any other wireless Sennheiser stick mic?

A: No, ew100 series wireless components such as the Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver are not cross-compatible with XSW series components such as the Sennheiser SKM 835-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e835 Capsule. A compatible handheld transmitter for use with this EK 100 G4 receiver is the Sennheiser SKM 100 G4 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter (BH #SESKM100G4A). Be sure to add on your desired microphone capsule, as they are not included with the transmitter's purchase: https://bhpho.to/39J5cWE

Q: 6. Can I plug line level into the SKP 500?

A: The SKP500 is made for compatibility with dynamic and condenser microphones. You can use the Sennheiser CL2 line cable connected to a Sennheser bodypack transmitter to be able send line level signal out from a mixer into the Sennheiser system.

Q: 7. Will this make interference if I have the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 Wireless Monitor System (A1: 470 to 516 MHz) next to me?

A: No, the Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System will not interfere with the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 Wireless Monitor System (A1: 470 to 516 MHz). Each system's transmitter and receiver will pair to a different frequency to use for transmitting audio, so even though the bands overlap, there should be no problems with interference between the two systems.

Q: 8. How do I choose between the AW+ and GW1 models?

A: If you are using this in USA, and you are only using a few wireless systems on set, either of the frequency ranges which we carry of the Sennheiser EW 500 G4 wireless microphone systems will work reliably for you. If you are using many systems on one location, you will get best results by dividing between the available ranges. If you need something that can work internationally, please contact us so we can help you find the best option.

Q: 9. Can I use this device with xsw2?

A: This is a UHF transmitter, but it is not meant to be used with the XSW series of wireless microphones.

Q: 10. Greetings, I would like to know if the SKP 100 G4 is compatible with an older G3 transmitter in G band. I wish to send the audio output from a Sound Devices MM-1 preamp connected to a Sennheiser ME-66 mic (line output level). Will this work fine without an attenuator? Thank you.

A: Yes the Sennheiser SKP 100 G4 in G-band will work with a Sennheiser ME66 and G3 receiver in G-band.
