Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use it with a mount to connect my Sony a7Rii?

A: Yes, it would be possible to connect that camera to this telescope. However, this telescope is not a great choice to use a 3 thousand dollar camera with. But technically, yes, you could connect this using item 93625 and you would also need a Sony T-Ring. Celestron only offers T-Rings for Canon and Nikon currently.

Q: 2. Hello, does the 120 AZ3 come with a dew shield, and if so is it removable?

A: Yes, the Sky-Watcher StarTravel 120mm f/5 AZ Refractor Telescope comes with a non-removable dew shield.

Q: 3. Can this scope be used with a camera?

A: The PowerSeeker 80AZ is best used with a smartphone camera and can be easily attached and aligned using Celestron's Basic-Smartphone Adapter: https://www.celestron.com/products/basic-smartphone-adapter-1-25

Q: 4. is this a spotting scope that can be used for bird watching?

A: I really don't recommend using this for Bird Watching. This is really more so for Celestial use. This would work, but might be inconvenience with 1 fixed focal length eyepiece. I would recommend going with the Celestron Ultima 80 3.1 /80mm Spotting Scope Kit. Website link: https://bhpho.to/2jl9m8N

Q: 5. I wish to replace the finder scope, and for that put a dovetail shoe on the screws which holds it. which nut should I use?

A: For a dovetail saddle you may need to experiment with the mounting screws. possibly self tapping screws

Q: 6. As a beginner, are there any essential accessories I should consider for the base kit?

A: The AstroMaster Accessory Kit #94307 is recommended because it provides two additional 1.25" eyepieces, a 2X Barlow lens, three filters, and a cleaning cloth. This kit will enhance the performance of your Celestron AstroMaster, or most any other telescope. The moon filter will help block some moonlight so you will be able to see more lunar detail. The two color filters (Red and Blue) will highlight features on Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

Q: 7. I was referred by celestron technician using this telescope tube as a finderscope. The original finderscope goes with the 8'' reflective telescope tube is very shaky on its mount. Does anyone know if this 70mm telescope fit well on the 8'' tube?

A: I bought this telescope for my son in 2015. The 70mm telescope does fit well on the 8 tube. My son has been super happy with this telescope, hes been able to pack it up and take it camping with us and its extremely strudy. Definitely a good buy.

Q: 8. Can I put a atachment to this scope to put a camera?

A: Thank you for your question. While it is technically possible to put a camera on this telescope using a 1.25 standard camera adapter, we would not recommend this for astrophotography. For this scope you might want to try simply shooting through the eyepiece with your phone's camera for simple shots of the moon. This telescope was designed to be used for visual use.

Q: 9. Does this work with a digital camera?

A: Yes it does. You would have to get 2 things. The adapter below B&H # CETA1.25 for the telescope eyepiece. And a T mount for your camera different cameras have different T mounts. So you would have to find one that is made for your camera.

Q: 10. Total newbie here. What is the difference, if any, between this and the Celestron 80mm in terms of features? Just the magnifying power?

A: One is 70mm in diameter the other is 80mm. The larger the diameter of the scope the brighter it is. The brighter the scope the more objects can be seen and identified.
