The Audio-Technica ATW-3212/C510 is a 3000 Series (4th generation) rackmount wireless handheld microphone system with professional-level features for enhanced reliability and control. The ATW-3212 includes a half-rack receiver housed in a rugged, full-metal chassis with removable antennas, well suited for rackmounting in portable flight cases or permanent installations. The receiver's auto-scan function searches 2395 selectable frequencies, seeking out a clean, interference-free channel for your audio transmission. The 3000 Series lets you set a clean backup frequency in advance, which you can quickly switch to with a press on the transmitter's multifunction button in the event of unexpected interference.
This system includes a handheld transmitter equipped with an interchangeable ATW-C510 dynamic cardioid microphone capsule optimized for speech and vocals. The transmitter provides up to 9.5 hours of operation on two AA NiMH rechargeable batteries (available separately), with a selectable 10/30mW RF power output for overcoming interference in difficult RF environments. The transmission range is up to 330'. Up to 40 mic channels can operate simultaneously in each frequency band.

Q: 1. Does the UHF version really have a 20ms latency? It seems odd that an analog device would be that slow, especially considering that there is no analog/digital conversion.
A: This system have a time delay, not latency issue, latency is only related to computers and is due to signal input and output compensation. On a wireless system, the signal only travels in one direction. The 20ms time/delay is an average and it is location RF density dependent. in our experience the average time/delay is 3.5ms. for most areas.

A: No, these have built in batteries.
Q: 3. I've used 4 persons simultaneously with no problem. My question is, is it 16 or 24bit?
A: The Comica Audio BOOMX-U does not have a recording function, so no analog to digital conversion occurs. As such, the bitrate of your recording would be determined by your recording device.
Q: 4. Can I plug in a Shure PG58 using an appropriate 3.5mm to XLR cable to the Tx unit in place of the lav mic?
A: The PG58 is a wireless microphone that is only compatible with the Shure BLX wirelsss receiver.

A: It only has an XLR out, so it will be a mic level output. It does have a spot where you can put a battery in, if you do not have phantom power in your recorder though.
