Designed for point-of-view style action shooting, the silver SJ4000 Action Camera from SJCAM records 1080p video and takes 12MP still photos. It features an assortment of mounts to cover just about every situation, including solutions for helmets, handlebars, surfboards, and more.

The camera also features an underwater housing that, with a 100' depth rating, is safe to take snorkeling or on many dives. A 2" LCD screen on the back of the camera allows you to compose your shots as well as review what you've already recorded.

The camera records to microSD and microSDHC memory cards up to 32GB in capacity. It records H.264 video in a .mov type file and offers 720p, VGA (848 x 480), and QVGA (640 x 480) settings in addition to 1080p Full HD. A USB port allows you to transfer footage to a computer, and there is a streaming function so you can use the camera as a webcam.

Q: 2. the motion detection has now stopped working, it did work fine, but now it kills the battery, (fully charged) and there is no video? there is no wifi on my model so that is not the problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

A: Be sure your batteries are in good condition and fully charged. You might try to charge them with another charger or try another set. I have not had this problem with mine. Old batteries can show fully charged when they lack capacity, they don't have enough left to operate the equipment. Try a fresh set of batteries.

Q: 3. does this come with a helmet mount and do you have to buy it seperate

A: It does come with a helmet mount. You have better options of action cam now. Check out Gitup Git2 and Sj5000 Elite.

Q: 4. My sister stole my charger because I would not let her temporarily have it because 4 times i told her not to press the power while recording but she did it 5 times so I have a G or two of locked footage and no charger except a micro USB for my phone, can I use that?

A: In our opinion, you should be fine if you use your phone charger to recharge the battery. On the other hand, you two have probably patched things up by now.

A: According to the manufacturer and an earlier reply by B&H to a similar question, the answer is yes. From B&H: It is the Micro USB to AV Out Cable for SJ4000 Action Camera FPV. Q: 7. Can I connect the SJCAM SJ4000 via USB port (or other cable?) to my iPhone and view the live feed from the iPhone?

A: No - but a live video stream is available when the camera is connected via USB to a computer.

Q: 8. How long does one charge last and can it record while charging?

A: One charge last about 2 hrs. But it can record while charging.

Q: 9. Does the SJ4000 have a 'one touch recording' feature? For example, if I am hunting for long periods & want to keep the camera off (to conserve power), is there a feature that allows me to simply press one button to power the camera on & begin recording instantly?

A: No! Unfortunately you need to push and hold the Mode button on the front for about 3 seconds and then wait so in all it takes about 10 seconds before you can push the OK button to begin recording. If you have it connected to an External Power Supply with a 32gig card it will record for 3 and 55mins on fine or the best quality

Q: 10. Is there any performance difference between the SJ4000 silver and the SJ4000 black?

A: There are no performance differences at all between the black and the silver versions. The only differences are cosmetic in nature.

I have used one of these for several years filming swimming meets underwater footage. Great picture quality and good sound even in the enclosed case. So I bought another one just because I like it so much. Also had a Go Pro Black priced at $400 and this just as good as the Go Pro. So I sold the Go Pro and have been using the sj 4000 ever since. Exceptional camera, especially at this price. Totally recommended. 5

This is a perfect first action camera. I bought it because I was going on a trip full of adventure and put it to the test. I went swimming with it, dropped it in a bay, and it popped back up on the other side of my kayak, I took it zip-lining. It is very handy and can handle any task you give it. I highly recommend it. Video quality is great, audio is average for a gopro-esque camera. The screen on the back is a huge help when framing a shot. 5

This my first action camera. I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars for a camera that I would not use all times. So this camera is reasonable priced and good quality. I can not compare with the high priced ones, since I did not had one before. Has a lot of accesories that comes with it. I used it under water and had no problem. Nice shots without leaking. The only con is; with the waterproof housing the sound recording is poor. If you wants sounds to be heard on playback you have to take out from the housing or replace the back lid with the supplied other lid which has apertures on both sides to let the sound in. Used this camera on the back of our Golden Retriever. It was fun to watch the recording. Easy to put back of our dog with the harness which came with a bunch of other accesories that I bought online from a known online store. Wifi connection is so easy to setup. Very easy to watch on iphone or ipad. Also very easy to remotely control the SJ400. The menu is simple enough to manage the camera. The battery life seemed to be ok for me, since I did not use it for a extended time for recording. The most I used for an hour and it was more than enough. 5
