Working, camping, caving, paddling, walking the dog, or during a power outage, this black APEX Rechargeable Headlamp from Princeton Tec provides a hands-free light without the hassle of replacing and discarding dead batteries. The Apex Rechargeable uses a separate lithium-ion battery pack that is worn at the rear of the headband or carried in your pocket or pack. It also comes with a strap for mounting the lamp onto a bike helmet. Maximum output is 550 lumens, with one Maxbright LED delivering a tightly focused spot beam and four Ultrabright LEDs providing a wide flood beam. Push-button switches on the underside of the light housing allow for easy control.

The Maxbright LED delivers a regulated runtime of 8 hours on low power and 5 hours on high, while the Ultrabright runtime is 20 hours on high and 90 hours on low. The wide beam also offers a flash setting. Along with a heat sink in the lamp's housing, the Apex is equipped with circuitry that steps down the output level if the light exceeds its preset safety limit.
