This brown, ultralow-profile Microphone Madness MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series Omnidirectional Earset Mic delivers clear spoken-word and vocal reproduction for presenters and performers working in music, theatrical, broadcast, house of worship, lecture, and presentation settings. It comes with a TA4F connector that plugs into select Telex bodypack transmitters.

The MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series earset features a 3mm capsule mounted on a very-short 1.25' boom that provides a tight fit with no movement while discreetly positioned away from the mouth for an unobtrusive fit. The lightweight earset can be worn on either the left or right ear and feels natural when used for extended periods of time. The extremely flexible boom is virtually unbreakable.

The capsule delivers full-frequency (20 Hz to 20 kHz) audio performance and high gain before feedback for detailed speech intelligibility. The 145 dB of dynamic range makes this mic well suited for loud vocal performances in houses of worship and on the musical stage. The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern offers enhanced plosive protection with no proximity effect for a natural sound.

All MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series microphones are made in the USA.

Q: 1. Does this fit into the FS5 mic holder?

A: No, the mic holder on the camera is larger than the diameter of the microphone, but this is not uncommon at all. You will use a couple of rubber O-Rings to give the mic enough girth to snugly fit into the holder. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/341475-REG/Sanken_ROCS_ROCS_Rubber_O_Rings_f_CS_1.html

Q: 2. How does sound quality compare to Senneiser MKH 416? Don't want to mismatch audio too badly with multiple input sources.

A: The Sony ECM-VG1 offers very good quality but the Sennheiser MKH-416 is more preferred for commercial applications.

Q: 3. Is the microphone holder threaded to attach to a boom pole or stand?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-VG1 Short Shotgun Microphone can be mounted to a boom pole or mic stand. Although information on its specific thread size is not provided, Sony specifies the inclusion of two mic stand adapters with the ECM-VG1's purchase for this application.

Q: 4. Will this mic fit the Sony FX3 mic holder?

Q: 5. What is the diameter of this microphone so I can buy a k-tek mic holder?

A: The Sony ECM-VG1 Short Shotgun Microphone has a diameter of 0.79" (20 mm) and it measures 8.27" (210 mm) long.

Q: 6. Will this work with the fx6 top handle without having to add an adapter to the shotgun mount?
