Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to get an overhead shot (looking straight down) with this jib?

A: It is possible to get an overhead shot with this jib, however you'll probably want to attach a security cable to your camera to play it safe. There are two knobs that can be loosened to extend the jib; when both are fully extended the camera will stay parallel to ground, but if you extend the top bar further than the bottom bar you can progressively tilt the camera down further and further. This jib has been extremely useful on my shoots, where I rarely have an assistant, as I can set this up in just a few minutes. Make sure you properly set your counter weight, this and a bit of practice and you'll be getting some nice, smooth shots.

Q: 2. Can it fit the k-pod with wheels attached?

A: Yes, the Kessler Crane K-Pod Soft Case (Black) will hold the K-Pod with the wheels attached.

Q: 3. does the have a mechanism to lock tilt?

A: Is possible

Q: 4. is this compatible with the 3 ft Kessler pocket dolly?

A: According to Kessler, you will need to order the 3ft Parallax for the Pocket Dolly. This item is special order from B&H. Please call, or email so that we can do that for you. Q: 5. What would you need to mount the ronin M in the upright position onto this?

A: You can hang the Ronin by attaching the CineMilled DJI Ronin M Quick Plate to the bottom of the crane's camera mounting plate.

Q: 6. What length HDMI cable would I need to run from the DSLR to the monitor that is mounted to the Kessler Pocket Jib Traveller?

A: I don't have it mounted and open right now, but the specs here say 6' max extension from fulcrum, so I'm going to say you'd be safe with a 7-8' HDMI cable, right? You can always tie up the extra near the monitor which can attach to the base (near the fulcrum). If I were shopping for one (good idea, by the way) I would look for something flexible and light. Some of those HDMI cables are stiff and heavy. Good luck!

Q: 7. Does this slider works with a manfrotto 501 head?

A: The Kessler Flat Mount Adapter gives you a 3/8 -16 stud on the cart of the CineSlider, so you can mount a flat mount head, like the 501.

Q: 8. Does it have auto-tilt capability?

A: The Kessler Crane Pocket Jib Traveler has auto-level but not auto tilt. Since Kessler cranes do not offer auto-tilt, they instead utilize electronic pan and tilt heads.

Q: 9. Has anyone used this center-mounted on a tripod? Was there much bowing at the ends of the slider track?

A: No, We have not been able to test the Kessler Crane CineSlider for bowing. Much of this depends on you payload weight on the slider and we suggest using support like the following. https://bhpho.to/3Jb6shE

Q: 10. can this Jib handle a Sony FS7?

A: This Jib is awesome but it is best used with a body with a short base as the attachment plate for the Jib is a little bit short. There is a possibility that your threaded hole is in a position that it would clear the arm when going up and down but I am not sure. We use it with our Panasonic AC90 and it just clears it. Use strong sticks though as the jib / tripod will wobble if the camera is too heavy. I hope this helps.
