Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the interior dimensions?

A: The interior dimensions found on our website are: 14.4 x 11.4 x 11.3 / 36.5 x 29.0 x 28.8 cm.

Q: 2. Will a d850 with a 500mm pf fit in the 80l

A: Yes, the Nikon D850 DSLR Camera and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens may be stored inside the Ruggard EDC-FP90L Electronic Dry Cabinet with Fingerprint Lock (90L) and the Ruggard EDC-80L Electronic Dry Cabinet (80L), B&H # RUEDC80L.

Q: 3. Is there a better solution? General Comment - perhaps a better solution... I believe that consistent humidity and temperature levels are important, so here’s my suggestion: use a good dehumidifier(s) in your home (Eg, I use a newer model GE that is energy star rated), which does a great job of keeping the ambient humidity around 38%. This has lots of benefits, including reducing the strain of an HVAC system and keeping the system and duct work relatively moisture free. Then buy a good Gun Safe (AMSEC is a good brand, but there are many) with a dial lock (avoid electronic locks which can fail...). A good safe will have a power outlet inside which you can connect a dehumidifying rod to and keep a humidity gauge inside. A fire rated safe is also recommended; minimum of 60 minutes. Store all your most important valuables, including video gear, wills, passwords book, etc inside and sleep well at night. Gun safes are affordable and come in lots of sizes. You’ll want to pay a reputable firm to deliver and install the safe. I’ve also read that when taking video gear outside, if there’s a big difference in temperature/humidity, that placing the gear in a sealed bag to allow the gear to come to a matching temperature sans condensation is recommended. I’d love to read anyone’s thoughts or experiences along these lines...always looking for best practices. Cheers. Chad K.

A: While the solutions you list above may also work, unfortunately, we do not offer any of the other solutions, and the Ruggard Electronic Dry Cabinet (50L) would be an option we carry that would be compatible and would maintain the temperature/humidity control to the equipment inside the unit. It is true that moving from indoors to outdoors when there is a large difference in temperature/humidity can cause condensation to form on your equipment, and keeping the item in a sealed plastic bag while the inside/outside temperatures equalize would reduce the condensation occurrence on your equipment.

Q: 4. Can you stack these on top of one another? I want to buy another one, but I also dont want to sell the one that I currently have.

A: Yes, you can stack them, just make sure the top one is secure and won't slide off.

Q: 5. Can the glass be replaced with plexiglass to make it more secure?

A: Technically yes you could, but you would need to be sure that when you replace it with plexiglass, to be sure you use some sort of sealant to make sure that it bonds properly so it doesn't compromise the performance of the system.

Q: 6. On the 80L Ruggard, B&H # RUEDC80L Electronic Dry Cabinet, is the inside LED lighting always on or adjustable or just on when you open the cabinet? Thanks

A: You can adjust it yourself

Q: 7. What us the max current draw in amps @ 120Volt AC?

A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer was only able to supply the wattage which is 8 watts at 120VAC.

Q: 8. Can you use this to dry out 3D filament?

A: Yes this should help to dry out 3D filament as well as camera equiptment.

Q: 9. Can you fit a canon 70-200 f2.8 ii inside?

A: The shelf height is adjustable and will allow a 70-200mm sized lens to be placed inside.

Q: 10. I live in Florida and therefore when I take my camera outside it fogs up. If I use this, would it also warm it to at least 80° so there is not such a differential between Air Condition room and the outside?

A: No, this doesn't have a heater element to it, just a dehumidifier effect. It does basically keep the same temperature as the interior room it's placed in. For example: I live in Hawaii and the non-air conditioned room my Ruggard is in is currently 84 degrees F and 79% humidity. Inside the Ruggard unit itself, it says it's 82 degreees F and 42% humidity. So the temperature is basically the same, but the humidity level is drastically reduced of course. I understand what you are aiming for by preventing fog - one idea would be to place the Ruggard in an area where the air conditioning isn't used such as a Garage. If that's not an option, could go down the path of jimmy rigging the unit with a very small plug in heating coil device and fishing the cord out of a hole drilled into the back or peel away just enough padding from the door edge to fish it through. This COULD be a fire hazard so I would suggest finding the exact proper heating coil that's well insulated, and putting in small digital portable temperature display unit to keep an eye on the heat temperature/consistency.

This pack is waiting in a drawer for tax season. I have used this ink for a couple of years and I love it. There is no problem with low fill because it is the original ink from the factory.
