Q: 1. What is the widest aperture you can focus and recompose using the 50mm f1.2 to ensure sharp focus?

A: The lens can focus as close as 1.5 feet from the subject. It can focus on any f/stop just that at the widest of f/1.2 your depth of field is very very short. So the slightest movement up or back can make the subject soft.As a example if you focus on a persons nose with that lens at f/1.2 that tip of the nose will be the only thing in focus. So if you what more focus you should shoot at a bigger f/stop like f/4 or more.

Q: 2. Will this lens focus to infinite without any issues on the Metabones Speedbooster?

A: Yes

Q: 3. what is the difference between this lens and the cheaper 50 mm that is 300$ and the cheapest one that is 50mm 100$????

A: This all depends on your shooting style. The great thing about 50mm lens is that the lens sees what you see. All the focusing comes from you manually moving in or backwards with your legs opposed to a zoom lens. Also, I would say the 50mm 1.8 is sharp, 50mm 1.4 sharper and 50mm 1.2 sharpest. If price difference is an issue for you then I would go with at least the 50mm 1.4. It's sharper and focuses faster than the 50mm 1.2. From my experience using all 3 I can honestly say I usually pull out my 1.4 more than I do the 1.2. Only because if I bang it up it won't be much of a big deal to me. But like to use the 1.2 for my glamour shoots. Last, take a look at Canon's 24mm 2.8 and 40mm 2.8 Pancake Lenses. Those two lenses do great for shooting slightly wide and are sharp. If you need to see all 3 lenses in action, there's lots of youtube videos you can see that will help you make the best decision for your shooting style. All the best Tommy

Q: 4. how close from the object to camera to get a picture with this lens?

A: Minimum focus distance for Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens BH #CA5012LEF is 1.48' / 45 cm.

Q: 5. Is There any difference between using this lens with an adapter and and using the RF 50mm for the EOS R body?

A: The main difference will be slightly better focus performance with the native lens.

Q: 6. Is there a crop factor with this lens on a Blackmagic Ursa mini 4.6?

A: The Blackmagic Design URSA Mini 4.6K Digital Cinema Camera has a super 35mm sensor which is roughly the same size as an APS-C size sensor. So, that camera would have a 1.6X crop factor. When using the 50mm lens on the URSA Mini, it would have roughly the same angle of view as an 80mm lens shot on a full frame camera.

Q: 7. does it work well on the canon R8?

A: Yes, the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM Lens is fully compatible with the Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 8. Will this lens work with Leica CL (L mount)

A: You can use the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens with the Leica L-mount by using the Sigma MC-21 Mount Converter/Lens Adapter (Sigma EF-Mount Lenses to L-Mount Camera).

Q: 10. Do you have a payment plan

I think the 50mm f/1.2 should the first prime any serious Canon photographer buys. I know there are heated debates online whether this lens is worth the premium compared to the other Canon 50's. In my experience, this lens renders different regardless of what f-stop you use. I have shot with the f/1.2 and with the f/1.4, and the quality is different. The colors are slightly warmer and definitely richer. If you need a 1.2, then there's no question you need this lens. However, if you need a quality 50mm with amazing image quality, then you still need this lens.

Well went back and forth for 2 years on this lens. Bought the 1.4 sold it...bought the Sigma sold it....finally sold off 2 L zooms to buy this. Worth it! Yes you better practice with it and figuring out what comes in focus and what does not is a little frustrating. But when you get that one picture that just has the 1.2 magic it was all worth it.

I've never been impressed with the 50mm lenses that were part of the camera bundle, so I put off buying this for a long time. What a great all around lenses with great artistic abilities because of speed of this lense! Glad I invested in this one!! :)

This is a very good piece of lens! It weigh quite a bit and its quite thick, but no problem there. Compared to other lenses I've tried, this one feels really stable, well built and massive. It screams quality all the way!
The 1.2 aperture of course allows for really soft bokeh and amazingly dramatic images. I use this one for portraits as well as environment photography and would definitely describe it as one of the best overall lenses out there!
The negative things is... that the auto focus is quite slow and I often feel that it has a quite hard time to get the focus, even with clear motives. Another thing that I experienced by using the 5DsR (and NOT with the 5D MKII) is that in some lights, with some settings, the lens gives a hideous chromatic aberration. But if you know how to handle it, it shouldn't be a problem.

I got my first job at 17 in order to save up and buy this specific lens. I saved every cent I made for 6 months to buy this lens, and it was the best thing I ever did. Now 21, this lens has been my go to since the day I unpackaged it from the box. It is a bit heavier than any of my other lenses, but the weight just adds to the stability. When adding this lens and the battery pack to my camera (I shoot with a 5D Mark III) I just use it an added excuse not to go to the gym because holding all of this up, shooting events for hours at a time tones up your arms pretty well. The 1.2 aperture is heaven on earth for dropping out the backgrounds completely although it can be tricky at times finding that exact sweet spot, as you must be very, very precise and exact, which holds its own beauty. This lens is very fast, and shooting in low light without having to sacrifice too much ISO is just another added benefit. To anyone that wants to really bump up their photography, this lens is an incredible and essential investment.

This is my favorite lens ever! I love the photojournalist style it gives. The bokeh is creamy and beautiful. If i could have one lens only, this would be it!
