Q: 1. Mine doesn't seem to work. Tried it with a EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro L series and a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L. Couldn't get it to focus no matter what I tried. What am I doing wrong?

A: It adjusts your backfocus to allow for a macro image. You will find that with a zoom, you can use your zoom control to help focus - it will change your focal plane. For fixed focal length lenses, you have to physically move to find the distance at which the target will be in focus, almost like you are using a lens with a nearly fixed focal distance. That's because you shifted the lens out of the focus plane

Q: 2. I CURRENTLY HAVE AN EF12, IF I BUY AN EF25 CAN I USE THEM TOGETHER ON MY 100MM MACRO. I HAVE USED THE EF12 BY ITSELF FOR INSECT SHOTSWITH GREAT SUCCESS!

A: Yes, you can stack extension tubes for greater macro capability.

Q: 3. I know this product is compatible to the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 II USM lens per Cannon Website, but can't find anywhere if it is compatible to the Cannon 70D. I am assuming since the 70D is newly released that the compatibility tables haven't been updated. Can you verify that this extension Tube will work with both the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 II USM lens and the Cannon 70D Camera?

A: Yes, the Canon Extension Tube EF 12 II is compatible with both EF and EF-S lenses, and both the Canon Extension Tube EF 12 II and the Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 II USM lens would be compatible with the Canon EOS 70D DSLR camera (which has both the Canon EF and EF-S lens mount).

Q: 4. Is it compatible with third party lenses? For example Tamron or Sigma lenses?

A: I use this often with a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary Lens to shoot dragonflies and it works fine. As others have mentioned infinity becomes a lot closer. A gent at a local pond was taken aback when I told him I could not take a picture of the snapping turtle on the beaver lodge because it was too far away. I took off the EF 25 II, got the shot of the turtle, put it back on and got back to my dragonfly hunting.

Q: 5. can I use it on 200mm 2.8L II to shorten the distance between me and my subject while doing portrait photography?

A: It's got minimum distance and maximum distance which is very limited and beyond which everything is blurry . This extender tube it's only for macro photography and nothing else !

Q: 6. Can i use CANON Extension Tube EF 25 II with my Canon 1Dx Mark II, Is it safe enough.....?

A: Yes you can. Completely compatible, but you must use a canon EF lens on the front end as well. I do prefer using a true macro lens versus an extender attached to a non-macro lens.

Q: 7. does thiswork for EF-S lens to be mounted on full frame body camera ?

A: Yes it will work with an EF-S lens on a Full Frame body. It's recommended for lenses with a focal length of 50mm and higher.

Q: 8. Anyone used this with a Canon 50mm F/1.2 L (I'm using a 5D mk iii but assume anyone w/ a 1.2L is using a pro body). Results? Presume it preserves the amazing qualities of the 1.2?

A: With the extension tube, the quality of the lens is preserved quite well.

Q: 9. this Canon Extension Tube EF 12 work for my sony 6500 to Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens?

A: I doubt it as the lens mounts are different.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with my EOS 5D Mark II? Can I get a 1:1 ratio using my (non-macro) 50mm Canon?lens?

A: Yes. The 5D is a full frame camera, so you will get the full 1x field of view with that camera
