Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, will this hood fit Sony - 35mm f/1.8 FE SEL35F18F ?

A: I'm sorry, it is not compatible with the Sony 35mm 1.8.

Q: 2. Hi:Can someone help me understand what version this is? I see the latest version is V6. But this item does not say the version name. I see ver4 and ver5 listed as separate items on BHP.Thank you in advance.

A: This one was most likely the first version when introduced. Like many first versions, it was not given a number.

Q: 3. is it safe to stack 2 smaller lenses for packing in a bag?

A: I havent tried that but imagine it would work well. Its a great little addition to the bag and for switching lenses in the field

Q: 4. Does this lens hood fit the Zeiss ZM 35mm 1.4?

A: Yes, this will fit the Zeiss ZM 35mm 1.4 because it is designed for a 49mm filter thread.

Q: 5. Can I use the lens flipper from Gowing for my Fujifilm XT1 model

A: I know the flipper is available for Canon and lenses. If your camera uses a Canon or Nikon mount, the flipper will work. However, the flipper strap is quite flimsy. I attached mr flipper to a sturdy Black Dakota strap. I sue it regularly with heavy, professional lenses. It works quite well with this setup. W wouldn't trust the safety of any lens to the flipper strap. I hope this helps you.

Q: 6. can someone confirm this product hold both EF and EF-S lenses?

A: It might not work for an EF-S lens that has a back part that protrudes too far back. The mount is the same, but some EF-S lenses don't work with some full frame cameras because that back part hits the mirror.

Q: 7. Are there caps on this? I am concerned about dust. Without caps my concern is you have a little cup pointing up catching dust, you put the lens on and flip it, dust falls onto rear of lens, put lens back on camera, dust in camera.

A: there are no provided caps....you could use a camera body cap or use two lenses so that it's always covered ...just a note--the camera body caps don't fit very tight...at least mine don't...

Q: 8. Can I use this adapter on the Sony FS7ii camera?

A: While we have no reports of this combination and we cannot test it, we see no reason this would not work as you wish. As I learned in a career in cinematography, test, test, test to make sure it works. If you have any problems, write us at provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 9. Can I also attach the Sony 49mm Multi-Coated (MC) Protector Filter together with this lens hood?

A: I have a protector and the hood and it fits.

Q: 10. Would this product hold up to having two large L telephoto lenses attached all day on a long hot day outside? Can the plastic hold up to it? I was just thinking if a person became good at this change-over system, this could hold the 2nd and 3rd lenses, counting the 1st on the camera body. Is there anything that tells of a maximum weight or anything that would prevent this?

A: Holding two lens would not hang or balance as good on the side of your body. I first researched the product on the manufactures webpage. The center ring is all metal and there was a video of a man hanging off the strap. Who knows if it was not a lucky try and many breaks, but it shows the center is quite strong. The lens mount strength are all in the screws holding the metal rings to the body but it looks strong enough to support a large lens over time. I have only briefly owned mine but it seems to be a well made product. One dropped expensive lens would be too much bad press for such a company, I would think.

How I use the Lens Flipper: - I bought this lens for use with my Sony FE lenses. It allows me to have a total of 3 lenses on hand with my Sony Alpha a9 body to use. I actually bought the Canon EF version of this LensFlipper, mounting L-glass lenses that are usually on the heavier side and this thing has NEVER disappointed me. What I like about the Lens Flipper: - I do NOT like the idea of lugging around 2 camera bodies. (that sounds expensive and cumbersome). Being able to swap lenses and keep all my shots on the same card with an accurate chronological order kept sounds much more ideal to me. This LensFlipper allows me to perform quickly where speed is essential, especially since I prefer to shoot with prime lenses. With my lightweight Sony FE lenses, this is working out even better than with my Canon lenses. I work can be anything from events to portraits and this helps for both. A strap is provided and it works for me. What I don't like about the Lens Flipper: - Absolutely nothing. Well done, GoWing. = Overall: - This a very nifty, innovative invention. If you're using it to hold smaller, lighter lenses like I do, it's such a relief on your shoulders.

This thing is used to carry one or two lenses in the lightest way possible. It's comfy, despite the narrow, lightweight strap, because E-mount lenses aren't very heavy. I wouldn't try it with the 70-200, though. The middle part is plastic and might break off, not to mention that at that weight, the strap would probably start cutting into your shoulder. For all the other lenses, though, it's the lightest, most comfortable way to carry them. It affords them zero protection, but if you're reasonably careful, you'll save a lot of weight, including the weight of the bag. And it makes lens changes super easy! There's a plastic shield in the middle that keeps dirt out of the back ends of the lenses while they're mounted on the carrier.

This is an ingenious little device that makes lens swapping a breeze. Works great with my Fuji lenses (most of the time sigma 18-50 and fuji 70-300). The lenses feel secure and the device seems sturdy and well built.

If you only want to carry one extra lens, this makes doing that and changing lenses less hassle. It is light and not bulky. One had holding teh camera, another the lens, and you are done.

Often I want to travel light when I am out taking photos. This accessory allows me to carry an extra lens without having to use a backpack. Changing lenses is fast and easy. I put the front lens cap of the lens on the camera in my pocket, and don't have to fool with the rear lens cap at all. I wish the strap was a little wider. That would make it more comfortable. If I have to scramble, it is pretty easy to move the lens toward my back to protect it. I have a feeling this may be one of the most useful gadgets I have purchased.
