The Magnalink Mounting Plate from Kessler Crane is used to mount a CineDrive Motion Control Box to a CineDrive Slider Motor. It includes two hook-and-loop straps to secure it to a Slider Motor and utilizes the magnetic Magnalink mounting system for quick attachment of the Motor Control Box. Additionally, 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the face and sides allow you to attach optional accessories, such as the Magnalink Rod Adapter and Motor Clamp clamp.

A: NO it will Not

A: No, it will not. It has two screw heads protruding. They serve as catches so the plate does not slide out of the head.

Q: 3. Will this fit on a Manfrotto head that uses 501PL quick release plate?

A: No it will not. This plate is not wide enough and to my knowledge will only work with its matching Kessler receiver. For example, I use one that is mounted on my slider, and I have a Kwik Short Camera Plate, that I can attach to the bottom of a small fluid head. The Kessler receiver is mounted to a 100mm half-ball, that sits in my 100mm tripod bowl. Then I can switch between a slider and fluid head on one tripod without removing and switching plates.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with Benro S6 head/ manfrotto 501PL?

A: Sorry, no. This is made to the Arca Swiss type plate standard which is unlike the Manfrotto 501PL standard.

Q: 5. What is the payload capacity? It states 20lbs. But with a 20lb payload x3 for counter balance, you get 60lbs. Then when you add in the 27.5lbs needed to balance the crane without a payload, you get 87.5lbs of counterbalance weight. The manual states that you should not exceed 75lbs of counter balance. So that puts the max payload for a balanced crane at 16lbs. That is 20% less than the advertised max payload. So what is the true safe balanced payload capacity and counterweight capacity?

Q: 6. will this work on a nikon 70-200 f2.8ED and the Arca swiss P0?

A: Yes it can. It has the 1/4-20" thread and is Arca compatible.

Q: 7. Does it have an electric pump or a manual pump?

A: The Kessler Crane Lamprey Adapter (8") has a manual pump. Kessler has discontinued AutoVac product line that provided electrical pump options.

Q: 8. Does this provide proper vertical spacing on the rods for the Canon C500 mk II for a mattebox?

A: no this will not work for the canon C500 MKii

Q: 9. Would this be suitable for mounting a 3rd party slider to a K-pod?

A: The Kessler K-Pod requires a fluid head and then this Kessler Crane K-Plate Kwik Release Plate can be mounted to the tripod plate which attaches to the camera.

A: Yes it is. It works perfectly with the Kessler crane Kwik release receiver.
