Prevent leaks and keep your Sony a7R II camera safe in Aquatica's A7rII Underwater Housing with the SURVEYOR Moisture and Vacuum Sensor. This unit is sensitive to atmospheric pressure, and it allows you to confirm watertight integrity before diving. An included compensation function improves accuracy by ensuring that changes in ambient or internal temperature will not cause incorrect readings.

Once your camera is installed, simply push the actuation button on the sensor's circuit board. With the optional valve and extracting pump, which are part of the complete Vacuum Circuitry Kit, you can actually remove excess air to create a vacuum in the housing.

  • If your housing system is failing to maintain a vacuum, or the slightest amount of water has made contact with the sensor probes, an audible alarm will go off and the LED will also flash rapidly in red
  • Advanced Aquatica circuit has temperature compensation included, so changes in ambient or internal temperature will not cause incorrect readings
  • Onboard actuation button is for the vacuum only; your alarm is always on

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a condenser mic?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKH 416-P48U3 Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone is a condenser microphone and requires 48V phantom power from its XLR input source connection for operation.

Q: 2. Would a camera with an arca swiss plate slide in there?

A: No, the Movcam Riser Block for Sony A7II/A7RII/A7SII Cameras is designed specifically to work with Movcam baseplates, which do not use an Arca-Swiss base.

Q: 3. Does this work with Sony A6400? Because I use the same battery for A7 R ii and A6400 (NP FW50). Thank you.

A: Yes. The following dummy battery will work for the Sony A6400 unit.

Q: 4. Are there any difference between the Raiser Block #303-2202 and the #303-2402?

A: The MOV-303-2202 and the MOV-303-2402 are not interchangeable. The riser was made different for the correct focal height difference between the A7S and the A7II/A7RII/A7SII models.

Q: 5. Is this microphone acceptable by film/tv industry standards to be used indoors without on location sound treatment?

A: This mic is a professional shotgun microphone used regularly in film and video for dialog capture. The MKH-416 may give you some reflections off of the back of the mic in-doors, which could effect the sound quality. You may choose a small diaphragm boom mic for interior interviews, such as the Schoeps CMC641 Set Colette Series Supercardioid Microphone Set (Gray), BH #SCCMC641S, which will elevate that issue. As always, bring the mic in as close as possible to your subjects, and cover reflective surfaces, such wood or tile floors with a blanket or rug. This will improve your sound recordings.

Q: 6. Is this safe to use?

A: Very safe to use when carefully administered. Like any tool, care should be taken at all time.

Q: 7. This question is directed to B&H staff - you must have heard about the RF interference problem with this mic? There is a YT video about it. I want to purchase but am wondering if Rode has solved the problem or it's just a small number of mics? No one has stated if it's a part problem/xlr cable problem/shielding problem, etc. Anyone know the details?

A: We have not heard of any customers experiencing problems with RF when using the NTG5. We reached out to Rode as well for more information and to find out whether they were aware of any issues with the NTG5 regarding RF or if they had seen the video you mentioned, which none of us were able to find. Rode has not had any reported problems with the NTG5 and if you have in fact purchased the NTG5 and are experiencing problems with RF, they do want to know about it and would like for you to contact them directly for assistance. Or the mic was purchased from B&H, please do let us know about it. It is certainly possible that a bad cable or a damaged input or circuitry on a camera, recorder or mixer can be the source of RF problems, but there should not be any issues that are created by the mic itself.

Q: 8. Does this have reverse polarity protection?

A: NOT as far as I know. Never had an issue with the cable though. Just make sure you dont force it into the ptap Connection

Q: 9. How is it powered?

A: The Fujin is powered through powered by four AAA batteries. They are not included.

Q: 10. The A7sii runs at 7.4v. Would this be too much at 7.9v?

A: The Core SWX Coiled Voltage Regulated D-Tap Cable for Sony a7S/a7SII/a7RII is regulated to work with the Sony a7SII.
