Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there any way to mount this lens on a tripod (which would be necessary if I'm using a mirrorless camera or smaller DSLR that cannot hold the weight)?

A: On solution requires a 15mm LWS system plus the Zacuto Lens Support for Canon 18-80 B&H # ZAZC18LS. If you have the handgrip, you will instead want the Zacuto Lens Support for Canon 18-80 with Right Angle 6 Cable for ZSG-C10 Zoom Grip B&H # ZAZC18C. The Zacuto Canon 18-80 Lens Support screws into lens. As you twist the lens into place in the camera mount, the support clips onto a 15mm rod on your baseplate. The support folds against the lens when storing.

Q: 2. Do you now a good adapter for the lens support? Using a BMCC6k

A: Please review the following lens support. Wooden Camera Universal Lens Support (15mm LWS) https://bhpho.to/3keg7sM

Q: 3. If I have this connected to an Blackmagic URSA G2 and an ATEM switcher, can I adjust the zoom and focus on this lens through the ATEM switcher?

A: Yes, the Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) BH #CAE70200EF is compatible with the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera and the ATEM control software.

Q: 4. Is the 18-80 equivalent to full frame 35?

A: This lens is for Super 35 & APS-C Formats only. It cannot cover full frame. The Field of View comparison to a full frame camera lens would be 29mm to 128mm.

Q: 5. I'd like to hear from anyone who has used this with the URSA Mini Pro. I've heard conflicting details, so I need first-hand knowledge. Is it compatible, or not?

A: Judging by what is said here the lens's compatibility depends on your needs, style and taste. I would say that it will do the job for most shooters. Then there is the fact it is only lens of it's type that is even remotely affordable.

Q: 6. Will this lens restrict any of the full frame or 5.9k benefits of the to-be-released C500 Mark ii?

A: This lens only covers up to a Super 35mm sensor. You will be able to use it with the C500 Mark II, but it will not cover the full frame. You will not be able to use this lens in full frame mode with that camera.

Q: 7. When this lens is paired with the Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k, will the Iris wheel and Autofocus controls work correctly?

A: Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 COMPACT-SERVO Cinema Zoom Lens' Iris and Focus control will work on the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K.

A: Yes, this is a parfocal lens.

Q: 10. Can it work with the servo on a Canon Eos R or do you need additional power?

A: This is an EF mount lens. However Canon does offer the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R adapter which will transfer power over through the mount. You will be able to use this lens with the EOS R if you have, BH #CAMAEFRF. Keep in mind this lens only covers a Super 35mm or APS-C Sensor, you will need to be shooting in a cropped sensor mode, which 4K with the EOS-R is.

These are the only DL DVDs that I trust. I have been burned (excuse the pun) by other store-bought brands. I have had no fails in over 1,000 DVDs to date, and the quality last for years. I use these primary for school programs.

Verbatim is my choice in burning standard 8.5 dual layer dvd or 25GB blu-ray media. They have truly done their homework successfully. I also appreciate the speedy-jet quickness of B&H sending my order to me. They are so very dependable! Regards, Dennis Evans
