Additionally, a pearlescent halo around highlights is created which can further enhance a subject's appearance. The filter has a grade of 2. The filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Canon focus screens

A: There are no interchangeable focus screens for the 5dmkiii. There is a focus confirmation beep with the center af point. If you have a eos1-n, 1-v, eos 3, or even a 5d up to mkii, they all accept the same screens. There is a split image/ microprism Fresnel (Ec-B) that would be helpful for those cameras; it is sold by B&H, but it is on backorder now. With 5dmkii just use af confirmation, or shoot in Live View and magnify to confirm focus. The microprism fresnel's are all in the Center anyway so it's the same deal. Wide open handheld with a figity subject is a tough. This lens is a powerful tool, but it does take a certain dedication to work with it. The results are worth the effort. Good luck!

I bought this for a wedding on Miramar Beach Fla. I had no reflections and no color changes. I had a cheap cpl that would change the color's ect,you get what you pay for. Being on a white sand beach in mid morning sun with no lost shots i am very impressed with this filter.

I use this filter on my Lumix 14-42 connected to my Panasonic GH2. I don't notice any degredation of sharpness nor any alteration of colors. It simply stops down the light, allowing me to open up the iris and get some nice bokeh. It also comes in a very handy pouch protector. My only niggling complaint is that it's silver instead of black. But no stars off for that.

Good quality filter. No color change, just reduction in f-stops ... as it should be. Nice metal construction that feels substantial. I like it!
