The F6406 Lens Ring Clamp for Voigtlander Nokton 10.5mm f/0.95 Lens from Nodal Ninja includes a plastic insert ring that mounts to the outside diameter of the lens barrel before attaching the metal lens ring. The lens ring clamp is compatible with R1, R10, R20, RS1, RS2, and M-series heads as well as other Arca-type-compatible clamps. Not only does the ring give a quick release functionality to the lens, but the by loosening the collar lock you can rotate the lens at 60 and 90° positions while mounted to any of these heads.
The lens ring clamp can be permanently left of the lens for convenience and reduces stress of the lens barrel when in use. Index markings are located on the bottom of the foot to repeat a nodal point setting on a tilt head, and the ring does not block any markings on the lens so it allows the focal distance to remain visible on the barrel. In addition, 90° index marks on the front and 30° index marks on the back of the ring help to align the roll of the camera and lens.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is the focus ring smoooth at all distances? Or is there a tightness when focusing from 10 to a foot distance?
A: smooth at all distances.
Q: 2. Does the f0.95 aperture offer any significant low light advantage when compared to f1.2, f1.4, or f1.8?
A: The f0.95 lets in 3.6x more light compared to f1.8 !! Even compared to f1.2 the f0.95 lets in 1.6x more light. So a big difference.
Q: 3. Is the focus ring smoooth at all distances? Or is there a tightness when focusing from 10 to a foot distance?
A: On mine, the focus ring is pretty even throughout its travel. I just tested it to be sure, and I would say that there is maybe 10-20% greater resistance, gradually as you approach the minimum distance, but nothing I would characterize as tightness , just a normal variation. I honestly wouldn't have noticed if I didn't test it in response to your question. I hope that helps.
Q: 4. Does this lens perform well enough wide open for astrophotography?
A: It would be recommended to step down the lens for this kind of work.
Q: 5. would this lense work on a Z E1 camera from Shenzhen Imaginevision which has a MFT mount?
A: The E1 says it can mount all Panasonic and Olympic lenses. I've used this Nokton lens on Panasonic's GH3 and GH4. Yes, this lens should mount on the E1.
Q: 6. What is the inside diameter of this ring clamp? Will it fit around the base of a Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN??
A: The ring clamp is approximately 74mm. No, the 14-24mm is 85mm.
Q: 7. What is the inside diameter of this collar???
A: The internal diameter of that lens ring is 3.96".
Q: 8. For those who are using this lens, how easy is the manual focusing, especially when shooting wide open with narrow depth of field? Thanks.
A: At F/0.95 you will need to be very precise to get the proper focus. You will need to take advantage of whatever focus assisting tools are available to you on your camera, such as focus peaking and magnification of the image.
Q: 9. Has anyone used this with a GH5?Seems this would be a great cost-effective alternative to the 42.5 mm Panasonic Nocticron, but will focus peaking and the 3-position rack focusing features still work with this manual focus lens?
A: Focus peaking will work with manual lenses, like the Voigtlander Nokton 42.5mm f/0.95 Micro Four Thirds lens, however the Panasonic Transition focus rack focusing feature will not be compatible with manual lenses.
Q: 10. Does this lense work (without any adaptor) on an Olympus OM-D E-M1?
A: yes, it does. that's why it is micro four thirds lens. you attach it directly to the micro four thirds body, without any adapter. keep in mind that it is manual focus all the time.
