The F6409 Lens Ring Clamp for Izugar MKX22 3.5mm FE Lens from Nodal Ninja includes a plastic insert ring that mounts to the outside diameter of the lens barrel before attaching the metal lens ring. The lens ring clamp is compatible with R1, R10, R20, RS1, RS2, and M-series heads as well as other Arca-type-compatible clamps. Not only does the ring give a quick release functionality to the lens, but the by loosening the collar lock you can rotate the lens at 60 and 90° positions while mounted to any of these heads.

The lens ring clamp can be permanently left of the lens for convenience and reduces stress of the lens barrel when in use. Index markings are located on the bottom of the foot to repeat a nodal point setting on a tilt head, and the ring does not block any markings on the lens so it allows the focal distance to remain visible on the barrel. In addition, 90° index marks on the front and 30° index marks on the back of the ring help to align the roll of the camera and lens.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work well with a Sigma 150-600mm?

A: Yes, you can attach your Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens to Nodal Ninja M2 Giga Plate with RD8-II Rotator. The lens is 4.03 lb and it has a 1/4-20 thread on the foot.

Q: 2. Could one replace the Mini Rotator with a different one (CAVIX DH-55D Panoramic Panorama Indexing Rotator Ball Head ) ? If so, would its capacity increase to 5-7 lbs?

A: As per the manufacturer, a custom modification in not recommended and void the warranty.

Q: 3. Exact weight?

A: 202.2 grams

Q: 4. How much droop is there at maximum extension? Without anything attached to the end?

A: There should be no flex or droop when the Nodal Ninja carbon fiber travel poles are used vertically as intended, and the locks should support 4.4 lbs upright. Horizontal use is not recommended, and likely will not accommodate more than 2 lbs without significant flex at maximum extension.

Q: 5. What is the inside diameter of this ring clamp? Will it fit around the base of a Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN??

A: The inner diameter would be about 3.8". However, there are lens ring clamps specifically for the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 lens.

Q: 6. I have a manfrotto 303sph tripod head for shooting spherical VRTV. The Sigma 8mm is so wide it shows part of the assembly if taken to the nodal point. Will this ring solve my problem on another tripod or the 303SPH?

A: It should work with the Manfrotto 303SPH head. But you might need to shift it a little on the head. That lens is very wide and is a fisheye. Most do use very wide lenses for VRTV but not that wide.

Q: 7. How do you know when the tripod base is level if used, for example, with a Manfrotto 303SPH QTVR Spherical Panoramic Head (which doesn't have it's own level)? Would you put a bubble level from a hardware store on the horizontal rail of the panoramic head? A two way bubble that fits on the hot shoe (e.g., by Novoflex) would help some, however, the camera could be level in one spot but not when rotated, if the base isn't level--which is the point of trying to level the tripod, right?

A: You will need a level. I am using this with a Nodal Ninja Ultimate M1-L w/RD16-II (F8102).It has a level on each rail. The EZ-Leveler-II makes it very quick and easy to level the pano head. When I first bought the pano head I didn't buy the level. I would have to shorten a tripod leg. This is time consuming and a PIA. The EZ-Leveler-II makes it a snap to quickly level the pano head. Well built and easy to use. I would buy again.

Q: 8. How do you attach camera to top of pole ??

A: One of the poles has a reversible 1/4-20 screw. You can attach a quick release system or attach the camera directly.

Q: 9. Is it possible to create spherical panoramas? Specially with non-fisheye lens (requiring more than one round of photos).

A: You can make spherical panoramas. This mount is designed to make complex panoramas with out stitching artifacts.

Q: 10. what is the inside diameter MM or cm,of this collar??

A: This product is designed specifically for the Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens, B&H # SO2424035F. It will have the proper dimensions specifically to fit that lens, which has an outer diameter of 80.5mm.
