The DWM-02N/30A from Sony is a wireless handheld transmitter designed for Sony DWX wireless systems. This is just the transmitter—the capsule is made available separately, to better suit your individual needs—but it provides a high-quality, fully digital operation with low latency and reliable RF transmission modes. Thus, it is suitable for theater, live sound, and studio broadcasting.

The transmitter enables wireless transmission of 24-bit audio at sample rates of up to 96 kHz, and with latencies as low as 1.5 ms. It broadcasts over the UHF band, utilizing an encrypted, secure audio transmission.

In general, the DWX series (of which this transmitter is a part), works with Sony control software Wireless Studio for PC and Wireless Studio Mobile, allowing users flexible control over the DWX system. Remote control of up to 82 DWM transmitters can be achieved using the Cross Remote function combined with a separately available remote control unit.

The digital wireless microphone system transmits and receives high-quality 24-bit digital audio. Utilizing the Sony original codec based on Sony's years of experience in engineering audio products, the system delivers a wide dynamic range of more than 106 dB, a wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 22 kHz, and an excellent transient response.

Incorporating an improved digital modulator, the digital wireless microphone system allows highly stable wireless transmission that is extremely tolerant to unwanted interference. In addition, the system transmits and receives digitally modulated and encrypted data to minimize the risk of interception, providing highly secure transmission and reception.

The digital wireless microphone system allows for large-scale multi-channel operations. Thanks to the digital modulator, the system achieves an intermodulation-free, equally spaced channel allocation. The digital wireless transmission technology used in this system enables a significant increase in the number of simultaneous operations in comparison with current analogue wireless systems. For example, up to 16 channels of simultaneous operation is possible within an 8 MHz operating band.

A robust 31.3mm/pitch 1mm threading interchangeable mechanism allows microphone heads to be changed easily and quickly.

Choose the minimum amount of power necessary for a venue, lengthening battery life, and reducing the already low possibility of interference. This allows the transmitter to work effectively in a very wide range of venues.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have been told that the Shure PSM 300 Twin-Pack is capable of being used as a wireless speaker system like the SENNHEISER Wireless Speaker System 5 which consists of 1 Transmitter and 2 Receivers. Please let me know if that is doable. I have always wondered if it will damage the speakers or not thanks?

A: Yes, essentially you could use the PSM 300 Twin-Pack as a Wireless Speaker System. They are NOT meant for this purpose, but if the proper cabling is used, proper gain staging, and you have proper line of sight this should cause no harm to the speakers.

Q: 2. Can this mic be conected to a JBL xtreme 2 speaker?

A: The Xtreme 2 does not have an input for a microphone and was not designed to be used with a mic. The USB port is for charging only and the wired 1/8" (3.5mm) aux input is not for use with a microphone. However, you could work around these limitations and connect the mic to a computer, then use the computer's Bluetooth to send the audio output from the computer to the Xtreme 2, or use the computer's headphone output to connect to the Xtreme 2's wired 1/8" (3.5mm) aux input.

Q: 3. Can the iPhone play back audio and video recordings while the DJI Mic 2 receiver is connected to it via the lightning adaptor?

A: Yes, the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System's receiver can be used for audio playback when connected over USB-C or Lightning.

Q: 4. Can I use high-speed sync with my B10 units when triggering with the Connect?

A: Yes you can use HSS with the B10 and Connect.

Q: 5. The Profoto Air Remote TTL-N works with Hasselblad X1D. An this unit as well?

A: The camera needs to be in electronic shutter and wireless mode.

Q: 6. Is there a test fire button on the transmitter?

A: There is no test button on the remote. It has only TTL, Manual and off switch modes.

Q: 7. Can a system like this one be had for under $700 with a configuration of one TX and 2 (to 3) RX. It won't be used for a stadium but for an in-home event, within the restraints of a home's short distance. headphones will be purchased separately.

A: The Shure PSM 300 system will be over the budget, but we do have other systems from other manufacturers like the VocoPro IEM-Digital 4 Wireless Stereo In-Ear Monitoring System (B&H # VOIEMDIG4), the Galaxy Audio AS-950-4N 4-Pack Any Spot Series Wireless Personal Monitoring System - N Band, 518-542 MHz (B&H # GAAS9504N), the CAD GXLIEM4 Quad-Mix In-Ear Wireless Monitoring System - T: 902 to 928 MHz (B&H # CAGXLIEM4), the Nady PEM-04 Wireless 4-Person In-Ear Monitoring System - 903 to 928 MHz (B&H # NAPEM04), and the Xvive Audio U4R4 Wireless In-Ear Monitor System with Four Receivers - 2.4 GHz (B&H # XVU4R4), which are all systems for up to four users. For two users, we have the CAD GXLIEM2 Dual-Mix In-Ear Wireless Monitoring System - T: 902 to 928 MHz (B&H # CAGXLIEM2), the Xvive Audio U4R2 Wireless In-Ear Monitor System with Two Receivers - 2.4 GHz (B&H # XVU4R2), the Galaxy Audio AS-1100-2N Wireless In-Ear Twin Pack Monitor System - N: 518 to 542 MHz (B&H # GAAS11002N), and the Nady PEM-02 Wireless 2-Person In-Ear Monitoring System - 903 to 928 MHz (B&H # NAPEM02).

Q: 8. Besides changing flash settings using your phone, can you also use your phone as a shutter remote? Or do you have to push the shutter button on your camera?

A: This will not be a shutter remote, but you could get a third party shutter release if you wanted.

Q: 9. Can this device be attached/used with a UAV/drone of some sort?

A: It would not be recommended to attach the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (2.4 GHz) to a drone because the transmitter is not made for attaching to a drone, and the transmitter can easily go out of range from the receiver.

Q: 10. does this look to the OS like a standard USB audio device?

A: it appears that its only takes power from usb powered ports, not drivers needed nor detected as a audio device by computers
