Q: 4. My C stand legs did not come with a knob to move them around. Is this normal?

A: C-stands that do not feature a knob at the bottom of the base generally have a fixed base where it cannot be separated from the column. On the other hand, C-stands that have the knob at the bottom of the base would allow the base to separate from the riser or would have a non-removable base which can put the legs into an offset position for an uneven surface.

A: The answer is YES, I have two B1 profoto with Reflectors and softboxes as well. These stands are strong...but you will need sand bages just to protect your equipment and your clients during a photo-shoot.

A: They Fold flat, perhaps that what you mean by sliding? the vertical column comes apart from the folding base. great for packing, they make the same stand with folding legs where the column does not come out.
