The blue line you see in the photo at the oposite end of the type c plug is the Type A male plug and it works just like any others USB Type A plug, the design is a bit different but it is fully compatible.

A: If you have a true USB3.1 Gen2, you can just hit 1GB/s (Samsung EVO). Then some time thereafter, your SSD will saturate and will go about 850MB/s and finally go about 600MB/s depending what SSD brand (EVO versus PRO etc) you are using. The only true USB3.1 Gen2 (USB3.2) that I found capable is on a 2080 video card that I use. So far I have not found a mother board USB3.1 Gen 2 to meet the requirement of 10gb/s.
