This aluminum Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand rises to a height of 8' and folds down to 29.6". The stand has sure-twist section locks and 4 sections and will support up to 8 lb.

If you forget to tighten any section with your light mounted, the light slowly descends, thanks to the air-cushioned action. This useful feature saves equipment and fingers from harm during busy photo sessions.

A: This would be great for a mic and boom pole. It is also MUCH lighter than a C-Stand. However, it is still very tall when collapsed. It won't fit in any of my light stand bags.

A: This will fit straight on the stand

I own 6 of these stands now. Two for 8 ft. led track lights I bought from Lowes and 4 for GVM LED Light Bi-Color Edge Video LED Soft Light (15"). My lighting for green screen videos have made my videos great with keying made effortless. I wish I invested in great lighting first and then great video and camera gear 2nd! Oh well, I learned a lot about fixing serious lighting problems and how to use lights, but I'm so glad now, that I have my lighting issues figured out. These stands have exceeded my expectations given their price. I wasn't expecting something so nice as I was just ordering some that are better than the flimsy ones that are common with some of the products. They are thicker and better put together. The knobs are durable and the base is wide enough not to tip easily with soft boxes on them. 5

Haven't owned them for long enough to truly test their durability but the feel very sturdy and well made for the price while being surprisingly lightweight. I feel very confident with my lights on these stands even with large softboxes. 5

I just purchased my third light stand, one for each of my flash units. The stands are excellent. They are well made, easy to set up, and very stable. I use them indoors, so they don't get any abuse. However, I like them, and if I need another stand, I'll buy the same one, again. 5

At first, I did not think this was going to be a beefy stand, but after it arrived I was very pleasantly surprised with how sturdy and well built this stand is for lights. I have an Aputure 120D II and a 36 softbox mounted on this stand. It handles the weight very nicely and does not feel like it is going to fall over. This is truly nice beefy stand. I do not need extra weight to keep sturdy. Just works! I will definitely purchase another one. 5
