A: If you are recording video in MF, you can magnify to AF with greater precision. As Ellen M. stated: If you have Movie Servo AF enabled (in the red menu 4 setting) and you don't have Face + Tracking set for Live View & Movie modes as the AF method, you can magnify, but the AF will stop until you return to full screen. A: The Canon T7i on a new fully charged battery can shoot up to around 800 still shots. But note it does depend on settings and how much you use the lcd screen.
