Anticipating a new Apple Mini I wanted to see if my hdmi TV monitor w/could work for it (it can't; wouldn't show the apple menubar etc). ... I had to do this exercise using the 2011 era MBpro I was then using which needed the old (OLD!) Thunderbolt T1 or T2 fitting that this post is all about. Oh! and I abhor Amazon so I could only source the item through other vendors. ... Cudo's to B&H and Belkin too. 5

Lots of hit and misses with other adaptors that did not work. This was instant perfect plug and play with my mac. Plays both sound and show perfect pic ratios through hdmi cable into sony brava. old school :-) 5

Because it's so thick, the cable does not bend too easily and thereby prevents from damaging the wires inside. Now the pictures don't cut in and out. Great adapter. 5
