Q: 5. Has anyone had difficulty flying with this case? Its measurements appear to be 1 inch over the 62 inch standard that most airlines will accept.

A: I've flown with it several times and have had no issue. I flew Jetblue, American and United. No international trips but I don't see how that would be much different. The case has always been checked.

At first I thought my 17 Alienware laptop won't fit because there was a slot for it however it fits on top of the cut out slot for a 15 laptop and there is alot more room for other things like iPad,iPhone,iPod,many more devices plus the power cord and it seals tight and nothing will ever get in! 5

The Pelican 1490 is a heavy duty case thats fits my 15.6in laptop perfectly. Theres even enough room for accessories if needed. Handles and locks are well made as well. 5

It's everything I needed and expected from Pelican. It's super tough, water tight, and has super heavy duty latches. It has holes in the case so that it can be locked up with a cable lock and it has locking latches as well. It's perfect for protecting the two high end Starrett Machinists levels we are hauling around in our service trucks everyday. 5

The product has met all of my needs. It has surpassed my hopes and I am completely happy with my purchase. The ease of customization of the foam has allowed me to put my electronics screwdriver set and my power supply safely under my 17 laptop and with room for my mouse on the side. It weighs quite a bit totaling 16lbs fully loaded but it's a price I'm willing to pay to protect my laptop. 5
