$105.00 $133.35

Part of the Cyclone windshield system, the Rycote Cyclone Pair of Universal Lyre is designed to effectively isolate microphones from handling noises and vibrations. These Lyre clips have a 72 shore hardness and are compatible with shotguns microphones with diameters ranging from 0.74 to 0.98" (19 to 25mm) including the Sanken CS3, Sennheiser MKH 416, Rode NTG-3, Schoeps CMIT 5U, and Neumann KMR 81i.

The Lyre clips have a proprietary design that's extremely robust and virtually unbreakable, as they do not use elastic or rubber components, which are prone to wear and tear. These backward-compatible Lyre have replaced the original silicone O-ring suspension and can be bought separately to upgrade older suspensions.

The soft-grip internal surface on the mic clip helps prevent the mic from twisting or slipping. It also keeps mics with powder-coated surface scratch-free.

Q: 1. If i own a large cyclone, will i be able to use the mount from the large cyclone with the medium windshield?

A: The medium-sized Rycote Cyclone Windshield should also work with the same mount that you are using for the large-sized Rycote Cyclone Windshield.

Q: 2. Will this windshield work well together with the Sennheiser MKH 416 shotgun mic AND the Auray DUSM-1 Universal shock mount?

A: No, this is intended to be used with the Cyclone Windshield Kit, which will fit the 416, but will not accommodate the Auray shockmount. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1083017-REG/rycote_089101_cyclone_windshield_kit.html

Q: 3. Does the cyclone work with any boom pole?

A: I have a boom pole that is 3/8 so i will need to purchase another one with a 5/8

Q: 4. Will these work for the RDE videomicro. I see the diameter matches but can it be put on the cold shoe part?

A: Hi Jason: thanks for your question! The technology behind the Lyres originates with Rycote; however, we have licensed Rde to manufacture their own version, and so the Lyre that comes with and fits the VideoMicro and similar/other products is designed and manufactured entirely by them. Rycote's official Lyres are not incorporated: any versions you see on Rde products are made by them using their own materials and production methods under licence. Please get in touch with Rde to resolve the issue here:a href= http://en.rode.com/contact target= _blank http://en.rode.com/contact./a

Q: 5. am i going to need a specific XLR cord for the end ?

A: Yes, the Rycote Stereo Cyclone DMS Kit 1 Windshield System for Schoeps CCM 4 Pair & CCM 8 uses a 7-pin XLR, not a typical 3-pin XLR

Q: 6. What would be options for windshields that would fit with this and a Sennheiser mkh416? Thanks!

A: The proper windshield to fit a Sennheiser MKH-416 and the Rycote Medium Suspension 68 Duo is a Rycote Windshield #4; B&H# RYWS4. For further wind diffusion, feel free to add the Rycote Windjammer #4; B&H# RYWJ4. Also, these components are available as a kit (B&H# RYWSK4), providing users with some cost savings.

Q: 7. What is the difference between this one and the other 62-Shore version?I can see the shape is slightly different. Whats the point?

A: Rycote Pair of Cyclone Universal Lyre (62 Shore) B&H # RYUL62 : Suitable for 19-25 mm diameter microphones. Ideal for compact, lighter mics

Q: 8. Can i use with Rode Blimp??

A: These will work with a Rode Blimp as it is suitable for 19-25 mm diameter microphones.

Q: 9. Does it comes with screws?

A: Per Rycote, yes, screws are included: https://mymic.rycote.com/products/windshield-solutions/cyclone-windshield-kit/cyclone-pair-of-universal-lyre-72-shore/

Q: 10. Can it fit into a Rode SM3-R, SM4-R, or PG2-R Shockmount?

I ordered this, THEN read the reviews and though to myself, Oh no! I bought a dud! I received it today and my initial feeling is that this is a well made mic shock mount. It does not seem flimsy or weak at all and I do not get the impression the plastic stress points will crack or fail. Treat this piece of equipment with care and it should give you years of good service. So far I have no regrets with this purchase.

This Rycote suspension mount is easily the best one on the market. I was using the good old Azden shock mount SMH-1 since a couple year, and while it works pretty well, it's not as good as this one. It really absorbs all the vibration and unwanted noise from handling the mics. It accepts various sizes of mics and doesn't requires bands or o'rings to work. It's really, a very good system and I highly recommend it!

I bought the Rycote INV6, and immediately upgraded to these #042216 82 shore grey stiffer lyres, and I couldn't be ANY happier! They're the perfect stiffness for running a single active stereo bar DINa/DIN/ORTF/NOS/PAS for my Schoeps MK4's & mk41's actives, or even for running a custom 4-channel stereo mount DINa/DIN with all 4 capsules + Movo WS80 or WST50 screens :) Perfect mounts/shocks/stiffness for taping in extreme or odd conditions and I haven't heard ANY audible noise because of handling or bumps into my stereo pairs since buying the INV6 HG's July 2015! I'm just bummed that I didn't switch from my old Schoeps a20s shocks- Rycote INV's sooner :) I highly advise everyone to upgrade to these stiffer 82 shore lyres if you're running active stereo pairs like I do, or a big shotgun mic :) And if you're STILL running elastic shocks, then I question why? The lyres technology is -12db quieter than the nicest elastic shocks, so for me and the adverse conditions that I often tape in, it just makes sense to have the best shocks available when running over $2k in capsules alone on any given night :) And you can STILL get 2 INV6 HG's for the price of 1 Schoeps a20s these days, so like I said, makes no sense to me why people still use elastic shocks when a better, cheaper option is available?

I purchased these lyres to upgrade my early 2000's Rycote WS4 kit, which used the older O-ring suspension system. Easy to install (and true to the description - if not the product photo - they come with an adapter/standoff and screws for older systems), they support my Sennheiser 416 beautifully, and with no issues regarding noise. All in all, an inexpensive way to update with no hit to performance.

It works better than the accessory mount that comes with the XF305. It is in two pieces -- the attachment to the camera, and a shotgun shock mount. The mounting bracket attaches directly to the camera in the same place that the Canon accessory mount does, but it is a smaller scale and so can be kept on the camera permanently without danger of loss or damage. The shotgun shock mount attaches to it. It's a very good design.

I own both a Rycote Windshield Kit 4 and Kit 2. The only improvement I would recommend making is to order an optional stiffer Rycote Grey 82 Lyre Upgrade Set--Part #042216--and install one Grey Lyre on the front side of the suspension mount while using a Black 72 Lyre on the back of the suspension mount (or replace both black lyres with grey lyres if you see fit). The grey and black lyre combination works exceptionally well with the Sennheiser MKH-50 in reducing some of the potential handling noise prone to all MKH-50s. It also works great with my Rycote Windshield 4 Kit housing a Schoeps cmit5u. I know everything boils down to personal preference, but for me, running a Grey 82 lyre in the front and a Black 72 lyre in the rear of the suspension mount is a winning combination for both isolation and feel.

I just purchased two of these for my cameras (Sony PMW-EX1 and Sony FS-7). I've had both of these cameras for years and have struggled with less than perfection from the factory mounts. I am totally pleased with the build quality AND the flexibility of use for new these mounts. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but here's what I like so far: -they are durable as heck -they are adjustable on two planes so that I can maneuver the mic position from high (above the lens) to low and outside (away from the hand grip. -easily adjustable (with no need to remove) for dropping the camera into tight bags -extraneous sound reduction- properly tight and flexible fit so there is no clanking or other noises to distract from the sound in front of my microphones. I use these easily with my Sennheiser ME66 and Rode NG2 shotguns.

I use a Sanken stereo shotgun mic (CMS-10). This mount replaces the original Panasonic microphone mount - which cannot be used - as the Sanken can be seen at 24mm setting. Using this mount pushes the Sanken further away from the body - and now the mic now no longer appears in the video.

These work so much better than the traditional cross suspension I was using.
