It adds a great deal to the stability of the view through these optics, far better than a conventional monopod. It's not as stabil as a tripod but it does a good job and is lighter in weight, has a smaller foot print and is easier to move about. So, just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it can't work for someone else.
