Does what it's supposed to. Provides lighting at close magnifications by reaching in areas that a regular flash can't. Great for macro- a much less expensive alternative to the MT-14EX. There isn't much control available over flash power and the unit is a bit cheaply built, but for this price you can't complain, hence my 5/5 rating otherwise!

Obviously love this! For the price you can't beat it. Really illuminates objects even in the dark. Highly recommend especially if you are doing product or macro photography.

I have been enjoying taking macro photos with this flash ever since I purchased it. The amount of lighting from all directions is just what I have been looking for and can't imagine all my hassling for getting correct amount of light on my subjects are gone away.

Bought this for use on my 100mm macro lens. I usually use a UV filter for lens protection, but when using this flash it appears the outcome is better without a filter. The only downside is what to do with this bulky item when it is not mounted on the lens. Certainly easy to use and lightweight; however I have not owned it long enough to rate durability and reliability. That said, it appears to be a great item. One I'll use time and again. Price was right too.

I didn't want to spend $on a Canon Ring lite that I only would use once in a while so I thought I would give this a try. I must say I was very impressed with the images I got with this ring lite attached to my Canon 100mm 2.8 macro on my EOS 50D. The shots are nothing short of stunning and my camera worked as if I had a Canon flash attached to it. No problems what so ever and flash recycle time is also pretty quick!

The Bower ringlight may not be the post powerful ringlight on the market, but it does what it is designed to do. It takes great shadowless macro photos and closeup portraits. Not bad for less than $120.

Coordinates perfectly with my Canon 50D with almost always dead-on exposure. I have been using this with my macro lens and also with a zoom lens for taking protraits and it has delivered admirably. For the money it can't be beat for someone wanting a true ring-flash.

You can't beat this strobe for the price! It's I-TTL compatible with my Nikon D300 and much more affodable than the Nikon model. I like that it is supplied with enough adapter rings to fit 52mm to 67mm. Conveniently short recycle time.

I gave this 5 stars for macro stuff. Its amazing for macro stuff. As far as stuff just beyond macro (like a portrait), its ok but still pretty good. MUCH cheaper than buying the really expensive Nikon product. I'm really really happy with it.
