Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Matthews Rags come with a bag?

A: Unfortunately, this product does not include a bag.

Q: 2. What type of connector is at the end of the cable? Can it power other cameras?

A: It is a 2-pin Weipu connector found on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras. The IndiPRO Tools Dual NP-F Power System with 15mm Rod Mount is only compatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K.

Q: 3. Is this product made of metal?

A: The rail mounting clamp and bolt are metal. The battery and microphone input block is plastic (except for electrical connections and a few small pieces on the xlr inputs. The plastic has so far held up fine -- without receiving 'kid glove' treatment. Biggest issue is that there is nothing that locks batteries in place, and the shape makes rigging a solution a bit of a chore. As a cord-cutter, we've ran a BMPCC for a good eight hour day with almost no off-time, and plenty of checking takes - and could have gone hours more. Keep an eye on camera temp during extended 'camera on' shoots - especially if shooting time lapse in RAW format - parts of the camera can get too hot to touch and suffer damage. This not an 'approved' Blackmagic device, so may lack some form of power management on a camera that has no self-cooling system. Note the xlr inputs are just converters (not a preamp and offer no phantom power). Otherwise, a good, budget solution with a touch of DIY to keep batteries on the unit. For pro use, there are better and, naturally, more expensive choices. That said, ours is still in the field...

Q: 4. The L-angle plug does not fit through my cage that encloses my blackmagic pocket camera. Where can I get a straight plug adapter or extension so I can plug the L-angle plug of this IndiPRO Grid to the power port on the camera?

A: Unfortunately there is not a solution for adapting this right angle connector to a straight connector.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with other cameras? Specifically Sony a7siii

A: No, the following unit is made and designed for blackmagic pocket cinema camera.

Q: 6. does it include the batteries?

A: No this unit does not include batteries. All batteries are sold separately.

Q: 7. Fire retardant or not?

A: The Matthews Unbleached Muslin Overhead Fabric (5.9 x 5.9') BH #MAF66MU is not fire retardant.

Q: 8. Will the Vivitar 2.2x Telephoto Conversion Lens Attachment for 58mm Threads work reasonably well on a Panasonic FZ35? I am seeing reviews of converter lenses that suggest that they will not work well with long telephoto lenses.

A: To use an-add-on lens on the Panasonic FZ35 you need an adapter, DMW-LA3 Lens Adapter. But it has been discontinued. If you have that part the correct telephoto conversion lens is the DMW-LT55, 55mm.

Q: 9. Where does it mount to the Pocket Camera?

A: It's designed to mount on rails, not the camera itself, but the rail mount can be unscrewed leaving a 1/4-20 hole if you want to mount it another way.

Q: 10. Can this be used to power the BMPCC 4K as well? Im thinking that "6k or 6k" is a typo but im not sure of it.

A: Yes, this will work on both the 4K and 6K.
