The lens follows the industry-standard focus rotation, so when working with an optional follow focus unit there is no need to make an adjustment to how you work or add a reversing gear. A: I can say that usually the difference between version 1, 2, 3 etc, etc with any manufacturer is some sort of improvement and 99 times out of a 100, it is the way you will want to go. My take away from the SLR website is that the mark II version has improved focusing and a more robust front section.
