Q: 1. What is the model of super clamp included in the Manfrotto 2961D Complete Deluxe Autopole-2 Expan Kit?

A: Manfrotto 2915.

Q: 2. Can I use it to develop 4x5 film ?

A: The Jobo SilverBase Compact Rotary Film Processor with Tank and Reel Kit can be used to process 4x5 film when used with this optional tank: https://bhpho.to/3ZHRj2S

Q: 3. Is it possible to use different seamless paper backdrop widths using 12 ft Alu-Core crossbars?

A: Yes. You can just get the Alucore inside the cardboard core of most seamless papers. The paper can be positioned in the middle of the 12" length. There's a good chance it will slip when you turn the alucore with the chain. Manfrotto used to put a strip of double stick tape down the length of the alucore. Don't know if they still do. This was to give the core some stick so that the background wouldn't slip.

Q: 4. I'm trying to figure out the difference between Deluxe and the Standard Black Kit. I have 8'8" ceilings and wish to hang at least two 6' wide painted canvas backdrops on them (which are heavier than seamless paper). Are the Deluxe autopoles more secure because it has 2 position-locking settings? It's hard to tell the difference as they do not explicity list identical feature types to compare them against to.

A: The major difference is that the Delux has a heavier duty locking mechanism with two position locking the second provides extra pressure for a firmer solid grip. Based on your heavier backgrounds, get the DELUX Autopole

Q: 5. Does this replacement head work with the Logan Compact model 301?

A: Yes the #302 is a pull style bevel cutter pre-equipped with the nylon guides so it hooks onto the guide rail. This is the bevel cutter that originally comes with the Compact series mat cutters.

Q: 6. Does this cutting head come with a blade?

A: It comes without a blade.

Q: 7. Can you do c-41 with it?

A: The Jobo SilverBase Compact Rotary Film Processor with Tank and Reel Kit does not offer temperature control, which is required for C41 or E6 processing. The Jobo CPE would be recommended for color film processing: https://bhpho.to/4do6IJy.

Q: 8. Will this also cut a straight edge? Like a regular paper cutter or is this only for mats? I'm looking for something that could pull double duty as something that will also trim my large images instead of putchasing a separate paper cutter + mat cutter. Thanks!

A: This may cutter, like Logan's other mat cutters, does come with both a straight cutter (intended for mats or foam core) and a bevel cutter (intended for cutting bevels on mats). It may be impracticable, though, to use the straight cutter for cutting a substrate much thinner than mat or foam, as the cutting board has a groove in which the blade of the straight cutter rides. For a thick substrate like foam or matboard (2- or 4-ply) that is rigid on its own there is no risk of an inconsistent cut due to material bending down into that groove, but with a thinner material that might be a risk. The thinnest material I've cut on my Logan mat cutter was linen (trimming the linen on a linen-backed piece of art), which worked fine, but for anything thinner for which you want absolutely precise cuts you might be better off with a good straightedge (the Logan Adapt-A-Rule is excellent -- I have the 40-inch model) and a sharp knife on a cutting surface without such a groove as this has. That said, for mats and foam I wouldn't use anything other than this device; it's really quite excellent.

Q: 9. Can this cut 1/8 inch foam material for matting?

A: No, the Logan Graphic Products 302 Replacement Bevel Cutting Head listed above would not extend far enough to cut through the 1/8" foam core board you mention above for matting needs. According to Logan Graphics, if you want to bevel cut 1/8" foam core, then you would need to instead purchase the Logan Graphic Products 5000: 8-Ply Handheld Matte Cutter, B&H # LOC50008P • MFR # C5000.

Q: 10. Does this cutting head come with blades?

A: Unfortunately, blades are not included. The Logan Graphics Blades #270 - 10 Pieces, BH # LO27010. https://bhpho.to/3pUgvyG
