A: A deadcat for the Vieo Mic Go is absolutely necessary when outside in even slightly brezzy enviornments. It will help in reducing or stopping wind noise. It is designed to be "acoustically neutral" meaning it will not color or change the sound at all.

A: I'm sure it would function that way to some degree, but you typically wouldn't use a shotgun mic close enough for plosives to be an issue.
