Extending the effective focal length of select Tokina and Nikon F-mount lenses, this Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 1.4x DGX Teleconverter enables you to get even more reach out of your lenses. The dedicated design retains full communication between the lens and Nikon F-mount cameras in order to maintain auto-exposure metering and autofocus capabilities. These contacts also relay Exif data between the attached lens and camera, and convert the data to the actual focal length in use with the teleconverter attached. This 1.4x teleconverter effectively increases your focal length by 40% and has a light loss of one stop. Additionally, the advanced optical design features five elements in four groups, and a multi-layer anti-reflective coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color rendering.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with a AF-S Nikkor 28-300 f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens and Nikkon 850 camera?

A: The AF-S Nikkor 28-300 f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens is not compatible with any teleconverter.

Q: 2. When I use this with my Nikon Z50 and the FTZ adapter and a Tamron 18 - 400 lens, the autofocus doesn't work and the f-stop is indicated by -- unless I mount the teleconverter and lens to the FTZ adapter when the camera is turned on. Then the teleconverter works wonderfully. Will it hurt the camera to mount the teleconverter with the camera turned on?

A: It will not hurt the camera, to mount the tele converter with the Nikon Z50 camera turned on.

Q: 3. I have the TELEPLUS PRO300 1.4x DGX (previous model). Is this new model that much better that it would be worth it to upgrade?

A: The upgraded optics in the TELEPLUS HD pro 1.4X would be a good reason to upgrade from the TELEPLUS PR300 1.4 DGX.

Q: 4. Can you confirm if this teleconverter will work with the Nikon AF DX 10.5mm f/2.8 G ED Fisheye? The Kenko website doesn't specifically list the HD Pro on their compatibility chart, but rather only 1.4x HD.

A: Yes, The Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 1.4x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F will attach to the Nikon AF DX 10.5mm f/2.8 G ED Fisheye lens.

Q: 5. I have a D850,when using the 200-500 mm lens,will this teleconverter work?

A: Yes, it would be possible to connect the Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F onto the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens. However, do note that this lens/teleconverter combination would become the equivalent of a 400-1000mm f/11 lens, and would not autofocus when connected to the teleconverter.

Q: 6. Will this teleconverter with with my Nikon D3300 and the Tamron 18-400 lens? I understand that it isn't an ideal setup but think it might be useful for some bird and animal photos. Thank you

A: Everything will fit together but image quality will suffer as well as autofocus. The focusing will be very slow if at all and you may get 1 out of 10 usable photos.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with nikon d3500 and a 70-300mm zoom lens? Thanks

A: Yes it is; it is compatible with Nikon F-mount lenses produced by Nikon.

Q: 8. D750, Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR and 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR. Will 2x TC work with these? Any AF/MF and aperture concerns?

A: Yes, the Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F will work with those combinations, but with the Nikon 200-500 it will only be manual focus. With the 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR autofocus should work.

Q: 9. Is the Teleplus HD Pro model better than the Teleplus HD model (Nikon AF-S G/E mount)?

A: The "TELEPLUS HD" series features updated circuitry to record EXIF data more accurately, this improvement was important to establish the Kenko HD teleconvertors as state of the art technology. The newer HD pro series offers everything the HD series offered, plus, and it's a big plus with greatly improved optical design and coating quality.
