Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How is this product different from Saramonic SmartMic ?

A: So the Rode Smartlav is a TRRS lavalier mic the can be attached to a shirt or a blouse designed for a smartphones but can easily be converted to work with dslr or camcorder via a trrs to trs adapter as well. And the Saramonic SR-XM1 is a omni mic designed to be attached directly to a consumer camcorder or dslr giving you a further away sound vs Smartlav , so Smartlav to be woren on clothing giving you better sound vs Saramonic to be attached to a camera giving you far away sound . Hope this helps

Q: 2. Is this work with gopro hero 8

A: Yes, the Saramonic SR-XM1 3.5mm TRS Unidirectional Mic for DSLR Cameras and Camcorders can work with the GoPro HERO8 when also implementing the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter (BH #GO35MA).

Q: 3. The unit won't work with the supplied cable and an XLR adaptor the supplied cable into my camera XLR input, Is there a fix?

A: Please be sure that the receiver for the Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System is set to "mono" mode when using a single XLR adapter. For "stereo" mode, a 3.5mm to dual XLR Y-cable, like the Saramonic SR-UM10-CC1 3.5mm TRS to Two XLR Male Output Y-Cable for Wireless Mic Systems (B&H # SASRUM10CC1), should be used. Additionally, make sure the camera's input level is set for "mic" and the phantom power setting (48V) is turned off.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Sony WH-XB900N headphone? Or an Android phone with a headphone jack?

A: No. This microphone is designed to be used with a DSR or camcorder with a 3.5mm microphone input jack.

Q: 5. Can a multiple systems be added for a total of four users or more?

A: The Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System with Touchscreens & Recording (B&H # SABLINKMEB2) will offer the best performance and reliability when no more than two systems (four users total) are used simultaneously in a closed space.

Q: 6. Does it record each channel separately?

A: Yes. The Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System does have a built-in recording feature on the transmitters, allowing them to record audio from each mic directly onto the transmitter's internal memory. Additionally, the receiver has 3 output settings: Mono, allowing you to record the mics mixed; Stereo, separating the mics to the left and right outputs; or Safety Mono, mixing the mics with a full signal on the left and a -6 dB safety track on the right. So you can record audio with the two mics separated onto different channels when using the Stereo output setting.

Q: 7. Would this mic work with a computer - like a MacBook? I need a mic for Zooming.

A: No, it will not. But the Saramonic SmartMic will work for MacBooks when plugged into the headphone port: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1282307-REG/saramonic_smartmic_flexible_microphone_for_iphone.html

Q: 8. Can you purchase xlr cables over a phono jack?

A: For the output you can easily convert the 3.5mm to XLR with an inexpensive XLR adapter, like the Saramonic C-XLR. Or if you'd like a cable you can use the Saramonic SR-UM10-C35XLR, it has a locking 3.5 mm connector but that will not impede you using it with the SR-WM2100 receiver. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1540721-REG/saramonic_c_xlr_3_5mm_trs_female_to_xlr_male.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1443722-REG/saramonic_sr_um10_c35xlr_replacement_locking_type_3_5mm_to.html

Q: 9. On the receiver does one mic go out the left channel and the other mic on the right channel or are they mixed together?

A: When using the Saramonic SR-WM2100 2-Person Camera-Mount Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System to record, the audio from both microphones is combined into a mono signal, so that both mics can be heard on the left and right channels.

Q: 10. Can I avoid using the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter and plug the Saramonic receiver directly to my GoPro Media Mod 9/10/11?

A: Yes, you can connect the Saramonic Blink 500 B1 Digital Camera-Mount Wireless System directly to the GoPro Media Mod instead of using the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter.
