Q: 1. I want to convert the SDI 1080i signal from my switcher to a 1080p signal to my live streaming server for YouTube. Will this unit do that?

A: I do technical support for Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor in the US. The Decimator 2 is definitely capable of doing what you are describing if your streaming server has HDMI input. If you bring the 1080i signal in on the SDI input you can configure the Decimator 2 to output 1080p over HDMI.

Q: 2. Do I need a special FCC permit to use this in the usa?

A: The LUV-250 video and audio transmitter uses the 2.4GHZ channel which is an open radio channel commonly used for many wireless devices. There is no need to have a special permit to make use of this channel in the US.

Q: 3. Can one transmitter be used to two receivers?

A: Yes, the audio from one Xvive Audio U3T 2.4 GHz Digital Wireless Transmitter can be sent to two receivers.

Q: 4. I have a video switcher with Program out via SDI, I am told there is embedded audio running out with the SDI video signal. Will this unit work for my application? I want my SDI PRGM output from my switcher to feed into a standard LCD TV monitor via HDMI with video and sound. I want to set up client monitors in the Greenroom down the hall .. All my SDI feed does for my consumer HDMI TV is video only...Thanks

A: Hi James, This is Jules from Symbiosis, Decimator's Master Distributor for your territory. The Decimator 2 will all you to pass both video and embedded audio from the SDI input to the HDMI output for monitoring on your LCD TV. Just in case you need it, there is also a pair of analog line level outputs for driving an amplifier or set of active speakers as well. I hope this helps. Jules

Q: 5. Video stability. Is the video stable?. Looking at a possible use for sending teleprompt video to a steadicam

A: Yes this is supposed to provide stable video transmission. It has a transmission range up to 600 ft line-of-sight.

Q: 6. Will this unit support the downconversion of an HDMI signal from a laptop to composite video? I want to use it to send an HDMI signal from a Mac laptop to a Presidential-type teleprompter system.

A: Sorry, while Decimators are great products, this one is not right for your application. Use this one, (as long as the signal is HD) Atlona HDMI/DVI to Composite and S-Video Down-Converter B&H # ATHD530 .

Q: 7. SMA or RP-SMA? How long is the cable?

A: This antenna is SMA male connector and it comes with a 10ft. wire.

Q: 8. I would like to hear about the reliability and performance of these hdmi transmitters.

A: This product is just the antennas for the FeiDu HDMI Wireless Video Transmitter and Receiver Set, B&H # FEFWT200. B&H # FEFWT200 is an HDMI system with a 650 foot line of site range.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with gopro hero 4?

A: This unit has RCA Composite Inputs for the video feed. It may be possible to use it with a GoPro Hero4 if you have the composite cables for the camera. They are B&H #GOACMPS.

Q: 10. I want to convert SDI signal from my NTSC camera to an SDI Signal in PAL (for both audio and video) Will this converter do that?

A: I'm afraid not. The Decimator 2s SDI loop output will repeat whatever signal is going into the SDI input, so while the HDMI signal would be converted to PAL the SDI loop-out would remain NTSC. To do a conversion and come out in a different format through SDI, you could use the MD-HX, MD-Cross or MD-DUCC. All of these will take NTSC SDI in and output PAL SDI with embedded audio.

I have found the extender to be quick on focus and very sharp even in the corners. It is very clear and crisp even when extra range is needed using the 1.6 crop sensor, 1.4x extender and 100-500 mm lens in combination. Doing so will extend the 500 mm to ~1120 mm, it does require a fast shutter. I use the whole range of options for bird photography and am quit pleased with the results.

This remote works great. Controls focus an will trigger both the flash an the camera. Or just the camera. You do need the cable to connect it to the camera. They don’t tell you that.

I bought this to add onto my Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens. I know it's already a fairly slow lens, but I plan to use it mainly for birds in good light. I have used it a few weeks now and love it. It gives me a reach out to 700mm with no loss in sharpness I can see. The lens does not zoom fully wide with this attached, but thats not a fault of the teleconverter. I found it really great if I keep plain backgrounds in the shot. Hard to separate the bird from the background at f10 if it's busy.

I have no doubt this would be even more useful on the RF 400.28L or the 600 f4.

For the size and great improvement over the EF version sharpness I am really happy I added this to my camera bag.

I used this Extender for the first time on my RF 100-500mm to shoot a high school baseball game. The use of the Extender on the100-500mm is limited to the 300-500mm range, but 420-700mm was perfect for covering all the bases! Shooting first base from just outside of the first base dugout made the images pretty tight, but I was happy with the results. The images were very sharp even at 700mm! This Extender was a very good investment for my sports and wildlife photography.

I can't say enough good things about the way this works with my RF 100-400 lens. To be able to get a hand-holdable equivalent of 900mm that is sharp and usable while taking advantage of the image stabilization on my R7 is amazing. The three photos show a neighbor's basketball goal about 200 feet away at 1/60th (yes, 1/60th) and 896mm equivalent. I've included the full image, out-of-camera crop, and OOC crop with one pass through standard auto DeNoise. This gives me a great budget setup (relatively speaking) for birding with the extra reach I so often need for more detailed and enjoyable captures.

I purchased the RF-100-500 lens and decided I wanted to add a little more reach on the long end to it. So, I purchased the 1.4X multiplier and couldn't believe how great the images were when using the two together.
